Summer fun in the sun can really do damage to your beautiful soft shiny hair. What to do ?

Summer Hair Tips,

Chlorine removal Either buy a clarifying shampoo and shampoo in warm water to help open the cuticle for optimal removal.
Then follow up with a nice ph balanced moisturizer and natural oil to replenish the hair.

Or

Add Baking Soda to your shampoo this will remove old build up from the hair as well as help with the Chlorine issue.

Also one of the BEST ways to Win the war with dry frizzy or natural curly hair is to use one of our Smoothing Treatments made from High Grade Keratin
this treatment will allow you to wear your hair curly with no frizz or you can style straight with pure ease so what ever the mood your ready.

A great at home treatment for excessively dry coarse hair is after styling apply a few DROPS of pure Olive oil to hair ,Remember just a few drops.

Those are great tips! I have also heard that it is good to apply a conditioner to wet hair before heading out to the beach to protect the hair from sun and water damage. Just pull it back in a clip or use a headband to keep it off the face. I'm not sure if that is the same for poolside. I think it sounds kind of gross but it is supposed to work at protecting the hair from damage. What is your opinion on that?

Maybe a leave-in conditioner would work well for that. Garnier makes a good one that I've used for almost a year.
Crazy doesn't even begin to cover it.

Will work for shoes!

That is good to know and I have done the baking soda thing before when I've had some product build up on my hair and it really works!

Soy Sauce works really well for getting the chlorine out. If you have/are a blonde that has green hair, put some soy sauce in it. Just a packet or two. It works!

My stylist got that tip from SMU swimmers when I was little. In the summer, I would come in and she'd go in the back and get the packets of soy sauce that she'd saved for me.

It sounds weird, but it works and its cheap!

Do you smell like a Chinese restaurant after using it?

GREEN HAIR HELP !!!

Soy sauce I will try that .

Remember why blonde hair turns green in the first place.
It is about color pigment ,For example the lighter your natural hair color the more dominant the yellow pigment is that is why when exposed to chlorine that has a blue/green tone the hair sometimes turns green remember blue and yellow make green.

NOTE : If hair is colored blonde that increases the chances of green hair due to the higher PH of the hair creating an open cuticle causing the hair to be more porous than normal.

Once again this is where the Keratin Smoothing treatment comes in this treatment truly stops the Frizzies , Tangles , Balances ph and closes cuticle while adding Sheen and softness it is truly the best way to pamper your hair that I have seen in years.

Back to color ever wonder why hair turns orange when you to to make it lighter. Remember it's about color pigment let's keep it simple.

Let's say we have a house the roof is blue ,the walls are red , the floor is yellow.

these are the three primary colors Blue,Red,Yellow and as in hair we either make hair lighter or darker Today we are going lighter.

A dark haired person wishes to be lighter they go buy color in a Box, put color on hair( now this is where our house comes in for you to easily understand the process.) The hair as with the house when in a unprocessed virgin state contains all three colors red, blue, yellow.

The color first starts to tear down the hair and remove pigment which pigment leaves first ? Think about the house if you tear it down where do you start ? Correct the roof which is Blue this leaves what two colors in the hair as well as the house Red & Yellow and together they make orange.

So to fix this problem what color is missing from the hair and house Yes! Blue so when lifting natural dark hair remember to use a color with a base color of Blue, Blue/green, Violet of course this depends on shade desired.

Disclaimer : I suggest you go to a trained colorist this formula is for example use only.

Wow sorry for the color story , but I truly wanted you to understand why the hair went green.
Now with the house knowledge how can you fix the green ? What color is missing from the hair and house HINT : it's Green ( blue & yellow )Yes, Red
is missing So a nice light golden rinse will get rid of the green and leave hair shiny and conditioned.

I hope you enjoyed the story
