Excerpt from "The Kingdom of Survival"
I find this point of view interesting because nobody ever talks about it like this. Where our so-called capitalist model is and has always been riddled with protection and intervention... making it something other than "capitalism". It's never been *true* capitalism... in the Ayn Rand sense.
Man... this dude is freaky smart.

Interesting, thanks for posting. I wish he had gotten into a bit more specifics, but I guess that's why you buy the book (I assume this will be a book, maybe a movie).

He gets into more specifics by the truck load if you seek that material out. Chomsky does sell books - but there are seemingly endless amounts of his material - lectures, talks, debates, and papers - found *free* on this website: chomsky.info

Interesting.
Chomsky is a brilliant guy....controversial but brilliant.
I do not always agree with him, but what he says is worth listening to.
Historically, he is exactly right about how we have a union of "Business and State." Historians would call this the "Postive Liberal State." (Liberal in its 19th century meaning).
Taken to its ultimate degree, this leads to fascism.
Chomsky is right here in that our current social, business, governmental order is not ordained by nature. Lots of economic models out there that are compatable with the American system.

Looked a little further, this was a cut from a multi-subject documentary. May be worth catching the rest. I saw a bunch of excerpts filed along with this one on YouTube.

Similarly, the evil failed ideologies of communism, socialism, Marxism, etc... are *truly* neither evil or failed... they've never even been tried in a definitive sense. Just ideas that never came to pass due to, once again, greed and elitist interest.

That particular documentary looks a little out there to me - but I will no doubt view it and then make up my mind. I'm definitely interested in progressive and forward thinking... so maybe it's up my alley. Practicality and pragmatism are also important.
