What happened to the Forums

Yesterday, the section of Allen Talk called Neighborhood Forums which includes Everything Allen, Town Hall Talk, Open Talk, etc. was inadvertently deleted by me (the firing squad awaits). Since that time our server people have been trying to restore this data. Unfortunately, they have encountered other problems but continue to work on solving the problems.

This being said, I am opening the forums that are available for you to use while the problems sort out. I also placed a new forum called Today's Talk for you to use. I am so sorry for this situation and the inconvenience it may have caused.

I want my money back!

Just joking. I'm very grateful for this forum.

I really messed this one up. I made the mistake of trying to setup the Holiday Events forum on Monday when I created the current problem. After watching the Allen Eagles, Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys all lose this weekend my head was scrambled eggs. It's also not too much better now as I have had only 3 hours sleep since this started. Anyone want a job as webmaster!

Well, that was one way to get rid of all the nasty, snipping comments and negativity .... so it's okay by me!!

Nope, ya gotta keep the job sir! I don't give a hoot about sports, but I've had about 3-4 hours sleep myself since Friday, so I know 'bout them eggs, haha. And it was certainly a Monday for me...because in trying to resolve an issue at work with our fuel logs...now a very important one is gone to a galaxy far away (oops!). I got off work this morning, and left them to find the missing form. I'm sure I'll hear more about it.

Maybe I'll tell them you dumped mine too...just kiddin'. Thanks for your helpful site for the Allen and greater community.

I guess you get to test the theory that anything placed on the Internet is permanently out there.

Good luck and take a nap!

Thanks to all publicly and privately that tried to help. We have a fix at least a partial fix. Most past posts have been restored. We lost a bunch from July to November but the bulk of 25,000 posts were saved.

Once again thank you for your patience.

Good job Web. I'll bet you will never again do work like that without taking a back-up first. I made a similar mistake once and I think about it every time I am in the same situation. It made me better as I am sure it will with you.

I'm only seeing the unread topics icon light up in Everything Allen and the Holliday events sections, none of the other sections are indicating unread topics in the Neighborhood forums.

Interesting. I'm not seeing that on my end.

Anyone else?

Mine only showed unread on the Holiday events. All others were showing no unreads.
