KAB and the Allen Garden Club are also sponsoring a pansy planting project in front of city hall. Pots of pansies will be planted and delivered to local senior citizens. This is a fun project for the family and members of the Allen Garden Club will be out there to help between 8:30 and 11:00 am. Come on by, go into city hall to register then come out and help plant pansies.
It was a lot of fun. We had a group of about 20 Girl Scouts show up just after 8 am and they got almost all the pansies planted and took their assigned number of planters to deliver to local senior citizens. We were done with the pansy planting before 10 am.
I even had to run back home to get a bicycle, microwave and pet food. It was nice I was able to go through only one line and the volunteers carried the bicycle and pet food over to the other areas. Things ran very smoothly. I think they get better each year they do it.
