If you order your In-n-Out fries "light well", they are actually ok while they're still hot.
We used to go once in a while. The burgers are fresh and good quality for the price. I prefer to dine in because of the fries. Also when I order my burger animal style, the burger is too messy to eat in the car, or gets too soggy by the time I get home. Now with a baby a drive-thru (and speed) gets the highest priority, so we rarely go. We will return when the kid gets old enough to enjoy a burger with us.

I think that the burgers are pretty darned good. They toast the buns, if I remember correctly, and I like their burger sauce, which I think is just ketchup and mayo mixed together.
Their fries are my least favorite item that I've tried. Come on, guys! They seem like they may be less greasy than most other fries, but maybe that's wishful thinking.

I couldn't agree more. I don't eat them much for health reasons - but I think they're delicious... and when I want a quick local burger - In & Out is the place.

I prefer to order them elsewhere. Their burger just isn't that good either, IMHO.
To me, they are the Krispy Kreme of hamburger joints. 99% undeserved hype and 1% underwhelming product.

Heard some of the actors interviewed after the Oscars that they had gone to In N Out after their parties. Guess the ones in the LA area are open all night or were open especially for the "Hollyweird" people. ....

I had to see it to believe it. Sure enough, and it is a really nice rig.
In-N-Out is my go-to place for a quick burger. You can't beat the quality and consistency. I guess I don't hold fries up as a deal breaker. It's about the burger, and In-N-Out, has one of the tastiest around.
I remember posters predicting that In-N-Out would be closed in 6 months to a year. I hope those folks have retired from making predictions.

They are open 24 hrs in the LA/OC area. Or at least they were through '96 when I lived there.

I've tried them every possible way, even animal style drenched in cheese and dressing. Still didn't do it for me

I don't mind the fries. I order mine well done and put some salt on them and use ketchup. They're not McDonalds fries, or WingStop, but I'm not a fry snob, I suppose.
The burger is good. If I want something fast, I go to McDonalds and get a #2 or quarter pounder. Sometimes, if I'm in the vicinity, I'll get a Whataburger with Cheese. Now that the Sonic is more convenient to us, we've been eating Sonic Burgers. If I get a craving for In N Out, I'll go get a Double Double with cheese.
I'm not for or against. I've eaten at the Allen location three times since it opened, once in Dallas, and once at the one in Red Oak/Desoto.
The lemonade is good, as are the milkshakes.

I went several times when they opened, each time hoping they had it right, and finally gave up. Haven't been back since. Give me a Whataburger anytime. In&Out fries are practically raw unsalted potato pieces.
