Oh, I am so with you. I can hardly contain my excitement every time I drive down Stacy as I see the progress. I'll take mine Animal style (and I hope they carry the little chili peppers like they do in SoCal.)

It will be interesting to see how this place does...For the West Coasters, this will probably be their answer to prayers; however, In-n-Out will face stiff competition from the native folks who are all wondering what's all this hype? Once the give it the ol' try, they may wonder...I've never tried one - hope it's worth all of the hype...

I suspect you may be correct.
I lived in OC, CA for 27 years and took I&O for granted. The "hype" generated around this chain sets folks up for disappointment, IMO. It's good... if that's your thang... but how good is relative. An alternative to a QP w/cheese, if you will.
I don't eat burgers anymore - but if did, given my choices, I'd probably go with a Double-Double from I&O(and I will probably sneek over and grab one for old times sake).

Somewhere in the West Coast, there are people on an internet forum lusting for a What-a-burger and settling for In-and-out.
I've had them in my travels...I found them to be remarkably unremarkable.

I'm starting to doubt In and Out will replace my beloved Whataburger.

Exactly what I was thinking. The grass is always greener.

There's alread a joke going around the shopping village that the In-N-Out is going to be renamed In-N-Stuck - will the lack of good traffic routing/streets in the area.

Remember when Coors was not sold in Texas. People would drive all the way to Oklahoma and back with as much as their car would hold. It was sssooooo delicious! Now you can get it at 7-11 and nobody wants it anymore.
Remember when Carls Jr, the most popular fast food chain in California, came to Texas in 1985? By 1986 they were all boarded up.
I never go to California that I don't make a special trip to In-N-Out. It's part of the experience, and they're oh so tasty. But in everyday life here in the metroplex I don't make a habit of buying burgers with thousand island dressing on them.
I'm sure they'll do well... but time will tell.

White Castle is the most overrated place ever. And not to mention disgusting. But to each their own.
Did they have Hot-n-Now around here?
