We are hosting Thanksgiving this year and I need some ideas on where to have our turkey smoked, or purchase one.
In the past, the inlaws purchased a turkey and took it to a smokehouse in their neck of the woods (South Texas), but I'm not familiar with anything around here besides C&B. Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks!

Sounds really good. Last year we brined a turkey using Alton Brown's roasted turkey recipe but instead of roasting it, we smoked it using our inexpensive smoker on our patio. It took all day, but was worth the wait. It was juicy and full of flavor. I can certainly understand wanting to purchase one that is already smoked for the convenience.

Funny, I have a turkey smoking right now in my smoker. I bought a gas smoker last year and love how I can easily adjust to the perfect temp. This bird is cooking at 240 degrees for 6 hours. Already been four hours and It looks amazing.

What kind of smoker did you get? I'm in the market for a new smoker but can't decide. I'd much rather have a vertical charcoal smoker but the options are slim compared to vertical gas smokers.

I love my Weber Smokey Mountain Bullet if you use the "The Minion Method" you can dial in 240 degrees and hold it for 12 to 18 hours depending on the weather. I have a 10' trailer smoker made from an old propane tank with an offset firebox which is a pain to keep the temp steady. You would be surprised in how much you can put in the Weber.
Great Info

I ended up with a Masterbuilt 7 in 1 smoker. I would have preferred the Weber just for the quality, but this one was available on a Visa points program, so I grabbed it. It's a stainless steel version and I've had it for a couple years now. It's not the best bbq I've ever owned, but it works very well as a smoker.
