Or so says the vinyl banner on "Brazos Kacoo's". I'm already worried, just with the name. I don't want my sushi anywhere near a grill. :)
Still, I'm not going to pass judgment just on a name; one of the high end places in Dallas is called "Neighborhood Services", which has got to be in the top 10 of most lame restaurant names ever, and it's supposed to be very good.
But I digress. From outwardly visible progress, it seems that Grand Asian Buffet across US 75 will open first, but I guess you never know. Let the buffet battle begin, and let's hope that at least one of them is a worthy victor!

Sounds like a Benihana. maybe they will use the old bar area as a separate sushi bar, and have the restaurant area filled with hibachi tables. Not sure where the buffet fits in, but I sure hope it's not a sushi buffet. I get sick just driving by those!

I call sushi buffets "rice buffets"; it's generally more apropos. :)

The three commas between the words may have pushed them over their character limit on the banner. ;-)

I only like grilled sushi (the rest is bait).

(apropos) gag..
Another put down by the critics.
I'm not worried as long as we have some experts to inform of us of all that comes forth.
Some get sick just by driving by the places(right) and some just don't like the name.
Cheap blows to a place that hasn't even opened. Must be wonderful to have such a taste of what is and what isn't.

Reading,
Always a pleasure to have you comment on one of my posts. If you cared to actually read my post, you would know I did not put down this unknown restaurant. I said "I hope it's not a sushi buffet". Yes, sushi sitting out on a buffet line for hours on end is not something I enjoy to eat. The one time I did, let's just say it was a lesson learned.
We have no idea what is going to be on their buffet, but if it is Sushi, my stomach will turn everytime I drive by. Similar to my response to tequila, but that's another story.
Merry Christmas, hope you feel better!

Had lunch there today. Food was very good. A wider variety than I normally see in a Chinese buffet.
A little expensive for lunch. $8.00 + drink (I had water so don't know the drink price) + tax + tip. I know a lot of you will say I am crazy, that that is not a high price, but it is for me (for Chinese buffet).

Had dinner there tonight. Big selection and the food actually has flavor. Very clean (but the place is new).
A good selection of sushi and sashimi.
The grill also has a bit more selction than the place across the street.
This isn't the best buffet in DFW, but it is better than the the other buffet in Allen. We have crossed the other place off our list.
$11.99 for "weekend buffet"
$8.99 for my 9 year old
$1.50 sodas
When we crave Chinese buffet, this is our place.

Just to echo the prevailing sentiment here. We went this weekend and were all very impressed. Excellent variety of foods not not normally found at this kind of place. Everything was clean and the price was good. This has replaced Great Wall as our Asian buffet of choice.
I've always wondered what those little octopus taste like. Now I know!

We had it tonight. Better than a lot of the buffets around the area. Very clean, and a lot of food for the price.

Went there this past weekend, was disappointed.
1) Watch out where you're driving and parking -- the parking lot is FULL of nails and screws. I personally picked up 6 nails and screws, and avoided several more when leaving.
2) The food was just OK, it tasted like cheap strip-mall fare. Yes, there was a little more variety, but many of the items were duplicate (eg, five different shrimp dishes? Plus two other shrimp with the peel on, the only difference being hot or cold?) The chicken skewers have a cheap red glaze, the Generals chicken was almost sickly-sweet, the beef in the broccoli had a lot of gristle. Two different fried rice that tasted very similar.
3) On the plus side, the wonton soup and crayfish were good. There was also full octopus (head and tentacles intact), but only cold.
4) Very expensive. While I may have eaten $12 worth, there's no way the rest of my party ate nearly that much.
In short, skip it and stay across the street for better tasting and cheaper food.

Had lunch there last week ,I agree across the street is better.
The only item that was real good was the baked crab.

Went there last night. Weekday dinner price was $10.99. Also noticed a sign that says crab legs were an additional $3.99/lb.
Compared to Grand Asia across the highway, this one's interior was nicer whereas GA felt more casual. The hot items and salads were good quality in terms of freshness and variety. This place had better sushi and hibachi though. Most buffets offer some vegetable rolls and call them sushi, but this place had a decent choice of sushi and rolls. I'd say the quality is comparable to the sushi you get at Krogers. And I saw the girl there making a couple of each kind of sushi at a time to keep the supply low and fresh. We didn't get to try the hibachi because we were already full trying the hot items and sushi, but looking at the choices they offered steaks, chicken, and shrimp, plus other vegetables and noodles.
In terms of getting your money's worth, it really depends on what you're looking for. We paid a few bucks more for the variety compared to ordering Chinese take-out. Also you easily pay over $20 each person at a sit-down hibachi place. So we thought we did ok.
Finally the waiters were attentive, coming by to clear out empty plates and refilling our water. But then last night was a quiet night after a holiday weekend, so we'll see what kind of service we get when the place is packed.

I did not like this restaurant nor did my daughter. I loved the decor, but the food was quite gross and my standard for Chinese buffet food is not that high. I tried a little of everything and did not find much that I thought was very tasty and would eat again. I'll stick to the one across the street. The one in Frisco and Plano are still better though.

Haven't eaten at this new Hibachi Buffet but I've eaten at the Asian buffet across the highway. It was okay and reasonably priced but went to Great Wall in Frisco this past weekend...definitely the best.

Went to both, won't go back to Hibachi as has been mentioned by others, the food is just not up to snuff. Hibachi was more to my liking at GA across the street and the overall food selection, quality and freshness is vastly different between the two. GA has it hands over this place, IMO.

I liked this place the first time I went. The second time, not so much. Usually, these buffets are good for at least a couple of months before they go down the drain! I'm sure I won't go back.

I have been 3 times. The first was great, the second was OK. The 3rd was OK, but I stuck to the sushi.
For an all you can eat sushi buffet, $12 isn't bad.
If you don't eat sushi, go to the place across the highway.

Does anyone know what happened to this place? The parking lot has been deserted and the OPEN sign has been off for the past two days.
