What do you think the school needs to do? Educate the kids on the issues with taking drugs? Everyone knows that middle school kids and up think they know everything and you can educate them all day long and their only thought "It wont happen to me".

If you have prescription drugs, get a lock box and lock them away. If your child is prescribed them, again, get a lock box and monitor the doses.
If you think it is your child, have their blood work done.

As long as there are drugs, there will always be a drug problem in the school system unless the parents step up and become more active.

Just my opinion.

The more I think about it, the more I may want to just be quiet just in case the worst happens. I have seen retribution and retaliation towards adults and kids from a certain person and I have a 13 year old who plans to play football for AHS. Pulled him out of ASA for a certain reason to play select and I dont want my actions to come back and hurt him in the future.

So why come on here and make inuendos about the man's character? I wouldnt know this guy from Adam, but, if you are going to cast asperions, you should at least give him the chance to answer them...

Your correct. I should have listened sooner to all those that know him about being quiet about it. His character will come out on its own.

Just fyi, he wouldnt answer any of them, I know this for a fact.

And a very generous person who has supported our charity for a few years now.

I'm sure he and his wife are very nice people.

There is a nice article in the AA, but it appears he's wanting to create incentives that would benefit himself as a local business owner.

I also find it interesting the Allen Professional Firefighters are endorsing anyone, let alone an outsider with no experience or affiliation to the department. Mr. Obermeyer has been a supporter of the Fire Department for years and doesn't deserve this public slap in the face from the APF.

But why should I vote for someone who doesn't vote?

That's correct Jim Gauch has no voting history.

Mr. Gauch purchased a home in Allen in 2002, registered to vote in 2008 and hasn't voted in ANY election; city, school, county, state or federal. Nothing!

If he hasn't cared to participate in the past, why should we risk allowing him to participate as a councilman.

My comments had nothing to do with his campaign, I have no idea about his politics. I just did not want the charachter assassination of the main subject of this thread to somehow get linked to the wrong person.

Anyone go to the Mayoral Candidate Forum last night? I had planned on going but one of my kids ended up having practice last night!

Anyone?

Nope. Guess who didn't make it either? I guess Blake didn't want to answer any questions ...

I'm almost positive I saw him at 7-11 around 7pm that day, I wondered why he wasn't there.

Unless I am wrong there was no candidate forum on the 21st. My husband and I went to the one on the 14th and Blake was there. I thought it was well attended and both Steve and Blake presented some good information. This was an open forum and the people who attended were able to ask open questions. I don’t know Blake but from hearing him speak and listening to his answers I feel he is very informed on the topics and did not sound like his answers were coming out of a rehearsed grab bag.
Keep looking up because thats where it all is

At the forum on the 14th it was brought up that he would not be at the forum on the 18th and a website was given for people to submit any question that they wanted answered that was not gotten to during the forum. Blake even said that if anyone had any questions he would meet them at anytime to discuss them. Where is the information about the forum that was on the 21st?

Sorry about that. I meant the one on the 14th, not the 21st. Sorry, I didn't mean to say "last night".

I was hoping that ACTV would have a video posted on their website but they only have the City Council Forum.

Brooks voting record is very active. When high school in Allen increased to be too large, Lovejoy became a separate district. Brooks in in that new area, but he has been recognized as a supporter of both districts. Baine Brooks is a resident and business owner, employer in Allen.
Thanks for your questions.

Not exactly how Lovejoy HS came into being...again, I think a lot of Mr. Brooks, but those are not the facts.
