Wife and I stopped in for an after dinner coffee. This place is unique. Great design, beautiful shop! Although still sort of under construction, the Dulce shop is mostly operational. Their menu is on really good looking displays as well as video monitors. They have a design your own desert bar, as well as a sandwich and salad bar. Their baked goods are very good, per the Wife, and so was the cappuccino, per me. They also make their own chocolate for the deserts and drinks.
This place is not cheap, but very good. Once it is fully open, this will be a great place to hang out and sip-N-surf.
The full restaurant is still looking like late May per the manager!

Does anyone have updates on this place? Are they still planning to open this month? I hope they do...love their food at Northpark Mall.

They should have told the Village Magazine that. I just got it in today's DMN and it says La Duni is open.
Their deserts are the most delicious I think I've ever had. I can't wait until the full menu is available.

It looks like La Duni is about to open (late this week???). Drove by this weekend and they are having their training. Restaurant looks very nice inside.
I love the one at Northpark mall. I hesitate to say they will do well Villages at Fairview, seing that we are seeing several restaurants bowing out in this area...
I hope they make it...

Not sure what several restaurants you are talking about. Ocean Blue and Guy Harveys failed because Peter McFarland filed bankruptcy. ALL Ocean Blue's with the exception of Austin closed. Bistro folded as this Ghengis Grill new concept failed. FYI another well known restaurant will be moving in to Bistro's space. All other restaurant locations on the property are doing great from what I see

Going to La Duni tonight. Cannot wait! My wife and I had dinner at the Knox/Henderson location the night we got engaged. Even though it's a preview night, I bet it's great!

I've been there once with my wife. I got a cappuccino that was a bit small, but it was one of those rare cappuccinos that was done perfectly. They don't skimp on quality beans, machinery, or technique. They definitely got a 5.0 out of 5 on my personal scale of coffee quality.
The owner/manager(?) also gave me a sample of some leftover chocolate ice cream that he had just made using their liquid nitrogen technique. I had seen the nitrogen dewar earlier and originally thought that it looked like an expensive gimmick to make money. Holy cow! That was the most amazing bit of chocolate ice cream I've ever had in my life. The quick freezing technique results in ice crystals that are much smaller than with typical freezing techniques. The result is an amazing creamy mouth feel. They also didn't skimp on the quality or quantity of chocolate. It was like an explosion of perfectly balanced high-quality chocolate flavors.
Nothing there is cheap, but I don't think that they serve anything that isn't top notch. This place is definitely worth checking out.

mcgrayar, please report back about what you ate. I went to the Highland Park location for dinner a few years back and wasn't impressed so perhaps I ordered the wrong things. I don't even remember what I ate because there was nothing memorable about it. I hope my next experience is better!
