The latest from Frisco PL includes this link. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/25/business/f or-lib...
I'd like to be able to "rent" a book like I can a movie. I'm just not one to buy a book that I'm only going to read once and then either donate to the library or sell to Half Price books for pennies on the dollar. I'd gladly pay a subscription price like Netflix or pay for a membership to another library.

Amazon Prime lets you borrow books from Amazon. But it does cost to have Prime.
Crazy doesn't even begin to cover it.

I think Amazon Prime is great, about $6.50 a month and free shipping on most things in addition to access to the lenders library. Not sure tho if you have to own a Kindle in order to use it.

Hmm...I haven't tried it on the iPad, just on the Kindles in our house.
I do love Prime though (as a homeschooler who sometimes needs to order books at the last minute -- getting it in two days is usually perfect!).
