La Duni is in the Training phase. My wife, Mother in Law, and I had the opportunity to experience their great new location tonight. The restaurant is beautiful. Very stylish, but inviting. They have a great bar as well. Although not all of their favorites from other locations are available yet, we were not let down by what we ordered.
For those not familiar, La Duni is a Latin American restaurant with a hint of European influence. They're known for their deserts and cocktails, along with beautifully prepared dishes. We had an appetizer that mixed plantains (multiple preparations), yucca (also multiple preparations), an epanada, salsa, and cheese. For entrees we tried the flank steak, chicken con broccoli, and enchiladas. All were uniquely prepared and tasty.
The hit was dessert. We tried the milk chocolate nutella cake. Awesome!! That paired with a Cafe de Chinita was the perfect end to a perfect evening.
They will not officially open until sometime next week. No set date, just waiting until everyone is well trained. The place was packed and reservations were required, so if you want to get in during the discounted training period, you will want to call.

Thanks for the review, we love Dulce and have been waiting for La Duni to open, can't wait to try it out! What number did you have to call to make reservations?

Tried it with the family last Friday night. Good stuff...There were still a few service hiccups that need to be addressed before they are fully open - missing sauces, undercooked burger, etc...which were resolved politely. Desserts are awesome...

It may just be me, but I tried this place. It was very good, but honestly it had a lot of crossover with Glorias. IMO. We really need a good Seafood place in Allen.

I agree. The few we have had seem to have not been very good and have closed quickly.
Off topic, but we tried the Fish Shack on Sunday. It was very good. There is a thread for it in this same section.

We went last night and the food was as good as what I remember from the Dallas locations. We tried the Cuatro Leches Cake for dessert after hearing so much about it and we were very disappointed. It was, ironically, very dry. Has anyone else tried it and had a different experience? I was expecting something that would top Chuy's and was sad to not get it.

It has not been dry the few times we have had it. It's my wife's favorite.
