For months, I've had problems with my wireless network. Every few days, I lose connectivity to the internet and must reset the router. I've tried replacing the router, updating my network adapter driver, and several other things but have had no success. Router company is not sure what is causing it, but doesn't think it is the router. My ISP is TWC. I even have problems with the PC hard-wired to the router. Also have issues with XBOX lagging and losing connection (also hard-wired via LAN cable). The connectivity is fine after I reset my router, but I have to do this at least once per week. Any clues? Or know a good troubleshooter that I could pay to figure it out?

IF its a Time Warner router, I would try replacing it again. Additionally, I would have Time Warner come out and take a look. I had someone out last year and they replaced a lot of the outdoor connections and everything has been running much more smoothly since then. With all the wires sitting out in the weather they do tend to get dirty and corroded.

You might also want to check to see if there is a new firmware upgrade available for your router. Routers are very small computers that can crash or freeze up just like your pc computer. Sometimes a firmware upgrade can solve your problems.

Thanks for the replies. It's a Belkin N (don't remember the exact model #) router. I've downloaded the latest firmware for both it and my PC network adapter. Also upgraded my Time Warner service to 20 MB/sec. That fixed the XBOX lagging but hasn't resolved the need to reset my router every once in awhile. Happened again yesterday. May need to get TWC out to look at it.

Another option is to install DD-WRT on your router if its supported. I have it on my Linksys and find it very stable but I do have to reboot the router about once every 2 or 3 months. You can look here to see if it is supported

My TWC internet has been suffering for months. I was having the same issue. I went through three TWC modem/wireless routers before finally getting a 'line technician' to come out and check my signal. The line tech replaced the cable connectors and the line from the alley to the house. The signal is much better, but not back to 100%.
