I read the book last fall and loved the book. The movie mirrors the book beautifully. This is a wonderful movie. The actors they chose for the parts are just like what the author described in the book. This movie will make you laugh and then turn around and cry in the same scene - just as in the book. I highly recommend seeing this movie.

I saw this movie with our daughter and we both loved it. My sister read the book which prompted us to see the movie.

I read the book with my book club and loved it, saw the movie the other night and they did an excellent job with it. I think I'm going to take my teenage daughters to see it, I think it would be a good conversation starter on some of the civil rights issues during that time.

I read the book a few months ago and was really impressed with how well the movie kept the intergity of the novel in the screen adaptation. So often a wonderful book doesn't live up to the reader's/viewer's expectations when it's made into a movie. This was the best movies I've seen in ages, and I agree with Denise that the actors fit their roles perfectly! If you haven't read the book, I would recommend doing so before you see the movie because you'll have a better understanding of the background of some of the story lines.

My wife read the book, I didn't. But, we did see the movie a few weeks ago. VERY good movie. We'll be adding it to our collection once it comes out...
