"Iceland’s on-going revolution is a stunning example of how little our media tells us about the rest of the world."

Real, transparent Democracy. For some reason our media does not want Iceland to ba an example here.

I get my news from the Comedy Central and my comedy from Fox News.

Wow. Interesting, to say the least. Inspiring!

the crisis resulted in Icelanders recovering their sovereign rights, through a process of direct participatory democracy that eventually led to a new Constitution.

What do you think the reason is our media has ignored this? Ratings?

Lacks the sensationalism needed for ratings, but also could ignite a flame in the US to do the same thing. Imagine that.

You think the media would be against that? Why?

I think the media would have a very difficult time manipulating the population in a transparent, direct participatory democracy. Did you read how the entire process was open to the public, transparent and run by non-politicians? It was a beautiful thing. Our media is all about manipulation, access and power and nothing about informing the public on an intellectual basis. I've mentioned this before how when I travel abroad, the news is real, intelligent, and meaningful. We get watered down opinion and fluff. We get commercials built into a news broadcast. Our news is commercial, corporate and adds no value to our society.

Combine the media with a failed "neoliberal" government followed by another "liberal" failed government and you have zero reporting of this....

Not really all that hard to figure out.
