Fellow Allen-ites!
I am needing recommendations for a good car maintenance place. I've got a 2008 Nissan Xterra due for a 60,000 mile service, which is one of the major car service appointments, and the Nissan dealerships here want to charge $599 for it....anyone with a Nissan or other foreign car get their car's regular maintenance performed at another place other then the dealership and have had good experiences? If so....please share!
(created this new forum post as I didn't want to hijack the other car state inspection forum, my question is a little different)

No longer have any Nissans, but there are some businesses in here (Directory) that might be starters?

Don't have any Nissan experience for comparison but Craigs Car Care is an independent shop and they gave me great service when my Mazda dealer was being difficult. Think you'll find them listed among the businesses here

SB.. LOL! I had so many issues with the Mazda dealers I sold mine. Great little car tho. Main thing was the high end luxury car prices for parts. If I wanted to pay luxury car prices, I'd drive a luxury car.

For just oil changes and minor fixes, I trust Kwik Kar here in Allen. I've heard nothing but good reports from Craig's Auto Care on Lucas and is where I'll be taking my truck from now on.

Just had my truck serviced by Craigs Car Care. I needed some brake service done and they were able to work me in on a short notice. They drove me home and picked me up when the truck was finished.
Now I know first hand why they have gotten such great reviews. They fixed the exact issue with my brakes and didn't try to sell me something I didn't need.
I rate them 5 stars for service and honesty and look forward to future repairs and service with these guys.

We use Allen Car Care routinely for our 2002 Nissan Altima and 2003 Mazda MPV. Great service; honest shop. It's off the service road along 75 just past McDermott.

Do we still like Craig's Car Care for service? My 2006 Ford Fusion needs brakes (including rotor resurfacing) and a CV boot. Dealer wants to replace the entire halfshaft for $500+, but I don't think it needs that.

Wow.. $500 for a half shaft? You can typically buy a half shaft for well under $100, and they typically take 1 hour to do.
You might check out Solutions Automotive in Mckinney too. Talk to Joe if you can, and tell him I sent you over.

Just dropped my car off for brakes at Allen Car care this morning. I trust them and they do a great job.
