According to the DMN, several ISD have begun litigation against the State claiming the current funding program is unconstitutional. Although this lawsuit currently seems to have predominately land rich ISDs, there is another lawsuit brewing amongst what are considered wealthy districts as well.
I fully support AISD joining in these efforts or pursuing it's own litigation.
It is likely that this will be very drawn out and very contentious. Keep in mind school fnding is generally a zero sum game in that every dollar Allen believes it should have gotten from the state is the same dollar another ISD did get.
Collin County is in a position to move the dialog because not only do we talk with our votes (given people actually show up at the polls - All 4% of you who vote), but we also talk with our campaign dollars. So as you talk to prospective candidates and current legislators, keep the pressure on - make education the #1 priority for State funding. Keep the pressure on Austin and Captain Coyote Killer.

Future campaign rhetoric is likely to be an interesting dance around the truth with little substance in most responses.
What questions could be crafted to elicit a real answer regarding a candidate's position on education funding?

Most of my line of questioning revolves around a pair of vice grips attached and locked onto a certain part of the anatomy. Oddly, this has had little effect on politicians since they generally lack the required said anatomy.
However, the subjects in question seem to have an unusually high response to the sights and smells of dead Presidents imprinted on symbolic high rag content paper.
