I'm taking my boys and my father-in-law to the game tonight, and it will be the first for all of us. We have general admission tickets.
Any advice or pointers on parking, how early to get there for a decent seat, etc? Is most of the home side all reserved?
Thanks in advance.

The home side is all reserved. There is a section of the visitor side that is reportedly marked off for home fans. I always sit in the endzone. I typically get there at least 30 minutes before game time.

Welcome to the greatest show on turf!
Before we SCORED reserve seats we usually got seats on the vistor side. The south end of the visitor side is generally all visiting team, by the time you get to the North side of the visitors there is a mix of Allen/Visitors fans. It makes for a fun trash talking rivalry. PG rated in a good way.
Tonight is gonna be packed - but that is the fun of Eagles Stadium.
I would plan on 60 minutes before gametime to get better seats, but you should be able to fill in right up to game time. Plano West is planning a "blackout" so they are showing up early - good for concession sales!
A couple of notes - The band is a real treat. At halftime, you can start to meander over to where the band was sitting before they got up to get a home side view of the show. The band will be playing to the Home side - as far as which side Plano West plays to, No comment.
Aluminum bleechers can hurt the bum. Bring a seat cushion, stadium chair or blanket. It gets a little chilly towards the end of the night so plan for a change in temperature.
A-up - it will always be a rally cry for Allen. There is a hand signal that goes with it - put both hands together index fingers and thumbs touching making a big "A"
Kick offs - arms up - pinkies intertwined with your neighboring fans and a hearty AOUUUUU! when the ball is kicked off.
Plano has a wildcat sound that they use on first downs (rare) and scores (even more rare!). As a new visitor to the double wide it is your job to figure out where the electrical cord is to the speakers and PULL IT OUT!

As to parking- get there early! I try to get in behind what was the Blockbuster and park facing Hwy 5 for easy get out. If you have a truck or SUV, once that lot is full the volunteers will start directing folks into the grass lot, gotta jump a curb but better than trucking across 5 with kiddos.
Another note to fan frenzy in the double wide, cowbells, must have cowbells. And during the alma mater, we sway side to side, then yell ALLEN HIGH at the end!
Have a great time and yes welcome to the best of Texas High School Football!

A lot of people get to Cici's or Bar B Cuties (or there's also a Subway and a Chinese place) somewhere around 6 or so, have dinner and leave their cars in that parking lot. The stadium is just behind that center. I would definitely get there no later than 7 for a good seat. Definitely don't miss halftime, it's quite a sight to see and hear!
Go Allen!

Get there early, eat at one of the restaurants near the stadium.
Insiders tip #1: Best seat in the house pregame is the patio at Jalapenos where you can watch the band march down Hwy 5 to the stadium.
There is police traffic control to help you walk across so very safe even with kiddos.
We like to get there way early, park in the south Lowery lot, and then walk over to Jalapenos. Choose a parking spot that will be easy to exit from after the game - do the walking ahead of time.
NEWS FLASH!!
The Allen High School Alma Mater has more than two words!!!!!
So give a cheer for the Blue and the White, waving forever
Forever proud of our school today, may she live ever
We'll sing a song of our school today, cheer as we go our way
On to success to stay, dear old AL-LEN HIGH

That does sound like the "Doo wop" background vocals I hear while I am singing a solo rendition of the actual words.

Hee hee, vrs as a 93 grad I still know the words and thoroughly embarrass my son by singing every one, just didn't want to innundate the "newbie" with ALL of our craziness ;-)
But I've wondered, when did it get changed to "on to success to stay"? In my memory (and yearbook) we sang "today"

Beats me - that's what is on the official school website. It also has the old "Go, Eagles! Fight, Eagles! Win, win win!" that we would do after the school song and roll right into the OLD fight song. (I can tell you when THAT changed - it was right around the year 2000).
Go Eagles!!

VRS- I know! I can't even remember what the old fight song was, and I played it for two years! But I remember thinking, "Waiiiit a minute!" back in 2000 and wondering what happened.
