Yea, but what a game before the Allen game - SLC v Plano East. That should be a great game.
Also, let's not look past this game against Keller Central and play bracket predictions. Everyone wants a piece of our tail feathers this season and KC is no slouch team.

Reminder - Get there early if you want a chance at a seat in the lower bowl between the 20's. I am sure fans from the previous three games will not be giving up their seats so Allen fans can watch their team from a decent seat.

Wow - I guess we'll recognize you as the one selling the "We Believe" T-shirts in the parking lot.
I think a team that starts the season by defeating Cedar Hill and Longview and then cuts through 8-5A (not generally regarded as a powder puff district) like a hot knife through butter deserves a little more from its fans than just an entreaty to show up quick before they lose.
Go EAGLES!!! All the way to State !!!!!

My son went there years ago and they were upset because people took the first round for granted. He says the team is pretty bad this year and exposed their weaknesses in several games this year. Something about the defense not doing their job and giving up too many points. I guess in Texas you have to have a defense, too. I just want people to show up!
Keep wearing your shirt and I'll see you in round 3 I hope.

EVERY GAME is win or go home and for the seniors they are always one loss away from hanging up their cleats perhaps forever.
The state championship is a cruel mistress demanding perfection for 6 playoff games in a row against the State's very best teams. She calls from the depths of history to either lift you to immortality or rake your heart from your chest.

I don't disagree that everyone should show up and not take round 1 for granted. Advancing in the playoffs is never guaranteed for anyone. Saying they are really bad this year, though, is quite a stretch. While the defense is their weakness, they didn't get to be 10-0 by being bad.

he said they are bad. something about having to come from behind many times against inferior teams. he said the defense is bad as in horrible, horrific, and a crime. that better? :p
He said we won't get past round 2 if we're lucky and its all because the coach is a hero in the town with a megaschool but can't play defense with the talent we have. he also said the basketball team stinks (he played) but said the bowling and hockey is good.
we have the largest band in the country so i think that makes everything okay. he never liked the band because the parents show and then the stadium is empty after the half.

The biggest issue I have seen is the national ranking and the #1 in the counrty ranking at one point. If you start drinking your own coolaid, then you are going to get beat. Frankly, what 17 year old kid would not be drinking the coolaid from USAToday and ESPN. Although we have had to make several come from behind wins this season, it has been extremely entertaining and that's the excitement of HS football. Also, we always feel like we can take control of a game with our high powered offense and we have a LOT of experience running the 2 minute.
The team has struggled against smaller, quick running teams but as you head to the playoffs you tend to see bigger sized teams in Division 1. Pure fans have been salivating to see another rematch of Trinity/Allen in the playoff's second round but to get there, you have to win in round 1.
Regardless - the playoffs are a cruel mistress and at the end of the day only one team gets to hoist the trophy and live in HS immortality.

Is “he” a football coach or some other football scholar? If not, I’ll take his opinion for what’s it worth.
I’ve been to every game so I have my own very different opinion.
Furthermore, to come on a forum like this and say such things as you have is really in bad form…in my opinion. Players and players’ parents may also read these forums. Luckily, I’m pretty sure they don’t care what anyone’s opinion happen to be, but just the same - very bad form.

The amount of pessimism in this posters statement about winning just 2 games befuddles me.
Sure, it's no cakewalk to the state game for anyone but you gotta take one game at a time and lend all the support you can for each game.
