Discuss.....

Massey rankings has '08 defeating '11 26-22, however, I wonder how '08 would cover the Morris/ARod Express.

That being said, '11 would have a lot of problems with Matt Brown running from the QB position.

Ah the stuff of dreams.

The O-line on the 2008 team was stacked. They had very good receivers and two great QB's with Matt Brown and Tucker Carter.

The run to state is not just skill but heart. I can tell you that the 2008 team had plenty of heart and that is what made the difference. They played several teams with more talent - RR Stoney Point and Hightower.. but they kept their composure and played to win.

What a great run that was! Best of luck to the 2011 boys.. We are rooting for you!

I remember a few gems from 2008, but the game of all games for me was at Bayor with winds near 40 mph and "The Catch" - by Dakarai Pecikonis.

For those that do not remember The Catch......

Remember that '08 went through the playoffs without Matt Brown. He got 'em there and Tucker brought it home.

I completely agree with you that RR Stony Point was the game of games from that playoff series or maybe ever. I can still feel the wind.

My favorite play was Stephen Terrell's interception in the back field. He crossed the width of the field to turn the corner right in front of the Allen stands, slowed down to let Nate (omigosh I can't remember his last name!) pass him and throw a mighty block before kicking in the afterburner and heading for the endzone.

That interception/touchdown picked Allen up and put them in the game.

Thanks for the memories!!
Blessed be the cracked, for they let in the light.

The 2008 run was several weeks of happiness for me, too. Though I always loved Matt Brown's athleticism and ability to make plays happen, I firmly believe that they'd have never won the championship that year if he'd have stayed healthy. When he went out, they were forced to play as a *team*! And Tucker Carter, bless his pea-pickin' heart, will forever be my hero.

When Matt went down at halftime with the broken collar bone, I thought for sure the championship had just slipped away. And remember the pundits had Allen to win in 2009 not 2008. 2008 really was supposed to be a tune up year for 2009. Then Tucker came in and defined "Prepared for the opportunity". Although Matt and Tucker's style was very different, they took us on a magical ride to Reliant Stadium in 2008.

I feel ashamed for not believing that QB2 was really QB1A.

This weekend will test "Leave No Doubt" and define the 2011 team.

I have to say 2008 over 2011, just all around a more solid squad. As always there are players you enjoy watching on each squad, but the magic was in '08, on both sides of the ball.

And without a doubt..."Thank Heaven for #11"!
