We can finally discuss the game we have talking about for the past 9 months.

This IS the battle - there are two big dogs in the room and only one steak bone. Let's see who gets dinner.

The battlefield is Cowboys Stadium Saturday 2pm.

Talons OUT, It's time to go hunting.

Here is a little trip down memory lane when 13-0 Trinity Trojans met up with 12-1 Eagles in 2008 at the old cowboys stadium.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7v38pYrCOw

And let's not forget this little dirty play that may have cost trinity the game....

Based on what I seen Saturday from Allen, this game is going to be very tough to win

I am hoping we have been reserving part of the offensive and defensive playbook for this game.

If there was ever a game to hit them with everything we got, this is it.

I've been hoping this was the case the last half of the season. Showed flashes of excellence this past week, and a few wrinkles on D . . .

Expect the faucet to be opened on offense, and the hounds unleashed on defense.

Now if we can just cover the right side receivers . . .

What is the best parking option near Cowboys Stadium and the best way to get to it? Thanks.

When we came home Saturday night, we took George Bush and flew home. We'll be going down the same way this weekend. Last week we took 75 to 30 and the traffic was awful until we got onto 30 and then it was ok. Parking was easy. We ended up in a lot just across the street. They directed us to the lot, I don't think there was much choice in where to park. All in all an easy trip and lots of fun!

Starrla,

George Bush goes all the way to 30? I didn't know that! I need directions from you!

Once you get near the stadum, they will begin to direct you to open parking. $10 easy sqweezy. Oh and there is tailgating available starting at I think 10am.

Yes, it does, although I'm not sure there's an exit for 30. Coming home we didn't get on 30 at all. We left the stadium, turned on Division, then MW 19th st, then 161 which became George Bush. I'll have to look at a map to get reverse directions, but that's the general route we took.

I learned last weekend that if you get there at halftime of the last game you can park 2 rows from the front door, and for free ;)

Try 121, south through the airport, to 360 south. Turn on Division (I think) and you're there. Faster than the Bush I think.

Bush ends at I30 (for now). You have to go through one traffic light. We did not come back that way because it had a huge backup onto I30. You can also go back 360 or Loop 12. We normally take loop 12 on the way home.

Yes, unfortunately it won't be close. Most of the games have been too close for comfort, come from behind wins against lesser teams, and we have no defense. Someone said "Look at how we beat Longview and Cedarhill!". Sorry, those teams had powder puff schedules and Longview still has an easy game this coming week. Cedarhill will be out after this weekend, too.

Someone wanted to compare the 08 team to this one? How unfair is that? 08 was magic. This 11 team still has to prove it belongs. Way too many games so far where they fell behind. It's like my beloved Aggies, if you don't play the full game it'll catch up to you and you'll lose.

You fans better show up and be very loud! They'll need all the boost they can muster.

Trinity is one dimensional - albeit a fantastic dimension. If we can get them to throw the ball, we will win. Now, that means stopping the run from a RB averaging 10 yards per carry.

Not to mention controlling the ball on our side.

Yea, '08 was magic - but you gotta be there to be part of the magic. You never know when it's going to all click together.

I'm by no means an expert on the Eagles, but from the 2 games I seen, I feel they have horrible pass defense.

Yea, I remember in '08 when we just trampled across every team - RR Stoney point we dominated the last 39 seconds of that game. Trinity in the regular season we just rolled right over those Samoans. I'm not sure why they just did not hand us the trophy in August.

Dude, you gotta believe and you have got to be there to experience the magic. If you wait for the "perfect" team, then you might be waiting forever. Massey Rankings has us beating Trinity 35-28. 33-28 if you consider Cowboys Stadium a home game for Trinity. 6 of the 8 pickers in the DMN has us beating Trinity.

It's gonna be a huge, tough game for both teams - BUT THAT IS WHAT MAKES IT GREAT.

Let's not forget about the 4th down spot against Odessa Permian and the comeback against Hightower.

I agree with you. This Allen team has talent and it will show on Saturday. These kids play in the toughest district in the state. Week in and week out they are playing a top 20 team in the area for 5A. We aren't a top 10 team in the nation for nothing.

I am very confident in this team and the coaching staff and look for them to make a "statement" Saturday ...

Off topic, the Cowboys need to recruit the Trinity kicker. He has kicked two 40+ yard field goals. Just put three more on the board. Shoot.

If they had played the first half like they did in the second we would have pulled out a win!!

I'm still trying to figure out what the heck happened with that touchdown!?!? I can't figure out if he dropped it, was he trying to spike the ball or did he think he had made it into the end zone?? I was flabbergasted the refs allowed us to keep the points! Im not incredibly knowledgeable about the game but my brother is a HS football coach and I'm not sure he figured it out either.

It was a great season and it doesn't get much better than sitting at Cowboy Stadium watching Texas HS football Playoffs even if my team didn't win!! Thanks Eagles!! Talons Up!!

Oh, he dropped it Leon Lett style. The Eagles were lucky there were no Trojans around to scoop it up.

There were no refs right there on the goal line since the play was a 60 yard pick 6 so they could not see whether #3 made it in or not. The refs could not call what they could not see. There is no instant replay in HS football but all 46,000 fans in the stands knew it was not a touchdown based on the 60 yard jumbotron repeatly playing the drop.

Was that kid showboating, or did he legitimately drop the ball?

I knew that Trinity running back (Kimpella) was good, but dang..345 yds that day?? I think I'm shocked that Allen only ended up losing by a touchdown.

Still heartbroken, but I think Trinity's been lying under the radar for most of the season. I will not be surpised to see them go to at least the semi-finals. I fully expect them to win the region, much to the chagrin of the SLC fans that think they've got it sewed up.

Kimpella deserves all the accolades he receives. He did a great job.

As far as the phantom TD goes - YouTube the Leon Lett fumble. It was the same play other then there was no Trinity player in the area, It was an interception instead of a fumble and a DB runs a heck of a lot better then a lineman.

I agree about Trinity going under the radar. I think it's because of the district they are in that they don't get the recognition and news bits until the playoffs.

That being said, #22 is a powerhouse. If you watched, he would wait a second or two so his O-Line could make a hole or two (or 5), then choose the best one. Very smart playing by the O.

Here's hoping they trounce the Dragons in two weeks if the teams meet, which seems likely.

Oh, Trinity HS has never really "bugged" me like the SLC crowd always do... so their loss on Saturday didn't make me all that happy. I think it does show that our Allen Eagles may have been a tad bit overrated all season, though. Still, Arlington Martin really, really wanted to beat Trinity (having lost to them twice in the last couple of years).

I'd love for Martin to beat SLC, but, sadly...I think SLC will win the Region. Hopefully, Skyline will knock them off. In spite of the fact that they haven't won a state title since 2006(wow!!)...they still act like an overly entitled bunch.
