About The Landry Award
The Landry Award honors the best high school football player in North Texas each year. The trophy, a replica of Coach Tom Landry’s iconic hat cast in bronze, is presented to the winner’s school at a ceremony after the season is over.
2010 was the inaugural season for The Landry Award, with the trophy going to Aledo High School for its star running back Johnathan Gray.
2011 Landry Award
The Landry Award 2011 will be presented the evening of Thursday, Dec. 8 in Dallas at the Communities Foundation of Texas, 5500 Caruth Haven Lane.
The presentation will be televised live on TXA 21, hosted by Babe Laufenberg and Bill Jones with emcee Roger Emrich from CBS RADIO’s KRLD NewsRadio and 105.3 The Fan.
The Landry Award is presented by the North Texas GMC Dealers. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Greater Dallas Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
The five finalists selected for The Landry Award 2011 are:
Bryan Driskell – McKinney Boyd High School
Mario Edwards, Jr. – Denton Ryan High School
Johnathan Gray – Aledo High School
Alec Morris – Allen High School
Jake Oliver – Dallas Jesuit
The recipient will be selected by a voting body of invited members of the Dallas/Fort Worth television, radio, print, online media, select former and current football players and coaches, local dignitaries and you, the fan.
(The online vote will count as one voting body)

I voted and he is a bit behind in the voting with just under 11% at the time I voted. I would hope that everyone here at Allen Online would want to support one of our own Allen Eagles in something like this. Click on the link and vote!
