We are under a Flash Flood Watch until Noon today. Rainfall is averaging 2 to 4 inches across our area with some areas possibly seeing 5 inches. Be mindful of underpasses, low water crossings, creeks and ditches today.
There is a Flash Flood Warning for the East Fork of the Trinity River at McKinney.
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FORT WORTH HAS ISSUED A
* FLOOD WARNING FOR THE EAST FORK TRINITY RIVER AT MCKINNEY. * FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING TO THURSDAY AFTERNOON... OR UNTIL THE WARNING IS CANCELLED. * AT 730 PM TUESDAY THE STAGE WAS 4.16 FEET. * FLOOD STAGE IS 16.0 FEET. * MINOR FLOODING IS FORECAST * FORECAST... THE RIVER SHOULD RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE BY WEDNESDAY MORNING AND CONTINUE TO RISE TO A CREST NEAR 19 FEET BY WEDNESDAY EVENING. THE RIVER SHOULD FALL BELOW FLOOD STAGE BY THURSDAY AFTER MIDNIGHT. * THIS CREST COMPARES TO A PREVIOUS CREST OF 18.7 FEET ON JUN 4 2000.
EAST FORK TRINITY RIVER AT MCKINNEY AFFECTING COLLIN COUNTY DENTON CREEK NEAR JUSTIN AFFECTING DENTON COUNTY.
Be careful if your commute brings you near this area and remember the National Weather Service's warning about flooding to "turn around, don't drown."

Be careful about driving in the far right lane this morning. Avoid it if possible. Lots of water along the curbs means hydroplaning and possibly losing control of your vehicle.

Definitely! Just since the rain is ending or tapering off does not mean the danger is not still there. Be careful until the water disperses!
