Please help Sonic find a permenant home. I was at the shelter today paying the registration for my two cats when Vikki Francis told me about Sonic. His owner had him in his truck at the Sonic on Main St. The car hop noticed the dog bouncing around in the truck and when she brought the food the man back-handed the dog knocking him across the truck. She told the man that he shouldn't have hit the dog. The man offered the dog to her, but her circumstances prevented her from taking the dog at that moment. As he man pulled out, he threw the dog out the window. The car hop witnessed this and tried to catch the dog as it chased the truck down Main St. She was not able to catch the dog, but he would come back to the Sonic occasionally. As much as they tried, he would not come to anyone. The Animal Shelter was notified and it took two weeks before they finally caught up with the dog who got trapped in a resident's garage and the homeowner called he shelter to come get the dog. Please don't adopt out of sympathy. He needs a permenant home. He does well with older kids and women, but has to learn to trust men again due to his prior treatment. I did get to meet Sonic an he is very scared in his kennel at the animal shelter. He is a very sweet dog. He needs a home where he will receive lots of love, patience and kindness. Will you consider adopting Sonic? Here is a link to his picture with more information:

We don't always know the details of why some animals come into the Allen Animal Shelter. This one was definitely worth posting so people will understand the life he came from. The poor little guy never deserved to be treated the way he did by his previous owner. There are some people in this world who should never own a pet. I know the right family will come forward to give Sonic a permenant home.

Good news for Sonic, my daughter saw this today and adopted him, his name now is Leo. She has been looking for the right dog to come along, and he is it. Leo will have a great, loving home and already seems to be adjusting well. Happy ending to a sad story!

I am very happy he now has a good home! I'm sure all he needs is some love and he will be a great dog - although in a petite package!

Glad he found a home, we nearly ended up with him. My wife went to the kennel yesterday to see him and dropped off dog food, treats and a toy. We already adopted one dog from there and another from one of my son's friend. The one from our son's friend was a puppy that was always left out on a balcony in the winter and either jumped or fell off.

Congrats to Leo, he deserves a good life. In his pictures he looked so sad.
I sure wish the car hop would have been able to get a license plate. That man should be punished for being so cruel. Jerk.

So glad Leo has a home! What a difference just one post to the forums can make. Thanks, Denise, for getting involved and helping a little furry friend. And thank to Firefly64 for finding Leo's home

I'm so grateful there was a happy ending. I'd like to see that jerk slapped a few times and throw out the window. What a loser.

Yes, I'm sure we would all like to see that happen to the previous owner, but that would be lowering ourselves to his level. I'm just glad the dog has a good home now and there should be many happy moments for him from now on . . . except for having to getting neutered.
