I can't believe they are putting one in at the old Brookeshire's location when they just announced how many stores they are closing. And why if they wanted to put one in, would they not put it at the outlet mall?

Anyone ever been to one? Is it any good?

We purchased our garage fridge at the Sears Outlet at the Carrolton/Farmers Branch store a few years ago. It was worth it. It runs like a champ. Looks good. Nice and big. Sometimes the only reason for an item being at the outlet is that some goober took a knife to opening the box for delivery, and cut the merchandise. Not good for the original customer or for Sears. But great if you need a fridge and don't mind a little damage.

Having said that--sometimes there is a good amount of damage on an item and the price is, IMO, too high. Just can't be in a hurry when looking.

Overall--I would recommend it.

I drove by the other day and they were putting the letters above the entrance on the building.

I bought my washer and dryer at the Carrollton store back in 2004 and they are both still going strong.

It's not a "premium" outlet or even an outlet type store (IMO). It's more of a "scratch & dent" store.
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it!

Purchased quite a few things from the one in Carrollton. Watch for scratches and dents.
One thing to keep in mind is the sales are FINAL.

The Sears Outlet here in Allen is open. They have appliances, women's and kids clothing, but no mens clothing yet. Good prices on their clothes. I bought a couple cute tops for summer for $5 each. They do have a nice selection of baby and kids clothes too. I didn't look much at the appliances since we're not in the market for those big ticket items, but they have a great selection.

I may be wrong, but in Oregon where I used to shop at a Sears Outlet, it was a franchise store. Perhaps that's the case here.

I was wondering if they had clothes! I didn't realize they were open yet. We might just have to check it out this weekend.

Denise - You said they don't carry mens clothing yet. Does the yet in that statement mean they will be carrying it in the future? We went up there today and were very impressed with their selection, but my husband was disappointed that they didn't have mens clothing. We did get some things for our little man, and we thought the prices were great, especially with our free clothing item coupon!

I asked a salesperson why they didn't have men's clothes and he said they did not have room and were not going to.

I got the same response a couple days ago about the men's clothes when I asked about it - not room enough right now. I did find a couple cute dresses for $10 each!

Out of curiosity we went by and checked it out for future reference. We were very disappointed. My husband had hoped there would be more tools and I just thought it would be nicer and cleaner than it was. We both commented that it looked like an in the near future flea market.

I drove by yesterday going to the Dollar Tree, looked like only half of the store was being used - I was wondering if they planned on putting more in the space?

I stopped by the Sears Outlet today and thought it was acceptable for being an outlet store. I only looked at the clothing and saw that they have some Lands End tops and Lands End swimsuit pieces (tankini type) that I thought were exceptional bargains - just couldn't find anything in the style and size I needed.

My husband and I stopped by there last night to check out the treadmills they have advertised for 50% off. They didn't have the treadmill we wanted but they did have a lot of stuff. I was surprised to see the clothes and the prices looked pretty good. There were families with kids shopping and I can imagine it would be a very economical choice for large families as clothing a lot of kids can be very expensive. It was your typical outlet store and smelled like a warehouse. But the staff look very competent and In my opinion it's a good fit for that location.

Does anyone know if they have shopping carts there? I have been in a couple of times and didn't even notice. Weird question, I know, but I am wondering if I actually need to take the stroller in or if they have carts my little man can ride in.

I haven't seen any kind of carts there. A stroller would be handy, especially when the baby is going to be along for the ride.

They do have them, right along the wall at the front of the store. I let the little man ride in the big part of the cart and put toys and books in there to keep him entertained. He lasts longer on shopping outings when he has a little room to move and play. Haha Of course, then I have to carry all the stuff I want to try on/buy, but it's worth it for him to not have a melt down right away!

Great! I just haven't looked for them and haven't needed a cart the couple times I've been in there. I usually carry what I'm getting.

I went in the day before their grand opening - was really a sad excuse of an outlet. I thought the prices on the damaged appliances were really way too high considering all sales are final. And the clothes, well, you can do better at a thrift store. Really disappointed.

I wish I had a good experience with Sears outlet in Allen but i didn't. we bought the washer on friday, brought back on monday and they refused to take back their merchandise eventhough their TECH support told me to bring back as well as the SALE person told me that i have 30 days for CUSTOMER SATISFACTION!. This is worse than a SCAM. I followed the procedure. I called the TECH support on Saturday, she walked through but the washer could not turn on and made so loud noise after it turned on. She told me to bring back. When I came to the store on monday, the store MANAGER said they don't have record shown that I called. It's rediculous! I had the phone minutes recorded by the wireless services. Then they blamed that we broke the machine without even know if the machine broke before we picked up from the store. They labeled as TESTED and VERIFIED but ofcourse they did NOT hook it at the store and run it for me to see before I picked up. They were so NICE when I was about to buy the washer but very UNPROFESSIONAL when I brought it back 2 days later. They said they will find me another one to replace but NOT take it back. With the recorded conversation, I think we can go further steps if this does not go through. This is the Worse experience ever with sears outlet. I thought sears has a good reputation but I guess we put the trust on the wrong people. Nowaday, everything you do, you have to have a recorder, otherwise, people denied it. It's crazy!.

Tell them you'd like to see their recording of the washer being tested and verified.

I went a few days after it was opened and found a couple of good pair of shorts but haven't been back. My daughter and husband bought a dishwasher there a week or so later and it had some missing parts or something when they got it home. They did talk to the manager at that time and he did get them the parts without any additional cost but think it took a few weeks to get it all resolved...My son inlaw had to do the repairs himself. Certainly haven't seen many cars in front of the store lately....

I've been wanting to go just to see what's there. But, after reading the last few posts it makes me almost think twice.

Sears Outlet = returns/pieces of junk? Makes one wonder now...

I love the Sears Outlet, but I have not shopped for appliances there. They have great inexpensive women's and kids clothing and accessories. I wish they had men's clothes.

A girl working at the Sears Outlet told us yesterday evening that they have just found out that they will be carrying men's clothing by the end of August. We were very glad to hear this. They will no longer have women's sleepwear, intimates or plus.
