I have seen around the city places where kids have decided to do some spray painting. This graffiti seems to be of the gang variety. How should our Police department handle these kids and what should their punishment be?

Contact APD's new Police Chief and ask how they have handled these situations in the past and maybe bring up the charges or fines of spray painting done by APD's children.

Actually 7mm has a good suggestion considering the new top Cop. I never got responses to reporting some of this stuff. But hopefully they have people monitoring it all over since the stuff is all over.

And, if anyone needs service hours, contact Keep Allen Beautiful. They have a program where they provide the supplies for graffiti removal. I know a couple Boy Scouts who have done this as their Eagle Projects and I am sure kids in other service organizations could do this for service hours as a group, although I believe the offenders should be first in line to clean up their messes.

Our building downtown, along with 3 or 4 others, have been 'tagged' several times. It appears to be gang related. Now whether they are gang-wannabes or gangs who just get their kicks spray painting buildings and have to be home by midnight, is anyone's guess.

Again, explain "appears to be gang related"? Does it actually say Gang XYZ-4-Life or something?
Most likely just kids doing stupid kid things. Not denying that it is being done. I have just never seen it in Allen and if it is, I seriously doubt that it is "gangs". The closest thing to a gang I have ever seen here is a group of kids hanging at Sonic after Ericson lets out lol

Last summer there was some "alleged" gang graffiti near Cindy's School of Dance. Thankfully the property management company had it removed/painted over. Yes, we do have gang activity here in Allen. It is not as prevalent as in larger cities south of us, but the problem is here.

The Allen Police have said that there are gangs in Allen. Approximately 5 years ago there was a seminar at the high school for the teachers and this was explained to us.
