I am trying to add a number to the list of "do not call" but it says my list is full. Does anyone know how to delete numbers from your list so you can add new ones? I checked the question/answer area on the website and couldn't find any info on how to do that.

Are you talking about the national or Texas registry website? Do you have lots of phones at your house? I've never tried to register more than one phone.

You are registering your own phone, and not the people who are calling you, right?

I think that registry is a joke. I'm on it and get as many as 5 or six calls per day. The calls are from companies I've had no business with or they are calls from charitable organizations, or they are surveys.

Anyone else getting the call from some "Card Services" company wanting to reduce your interest rate? I get that call every other day, on every phone we have and I'm debt free. I've begged, asked nicely and cursed at these people to remove my numbers and yet the calls continue. They come up as a different spoofed number all the time. Oh what I might do if I could reach through the phone.

I get them too. They are the worst of the worst. They KNOW that they are flagrantly breaking several state and federal laws, and they know how to avoid getting caught. They break more laws in order to avoid getting caught. They immediately hang up if you politely ask them for a phone number or which company they represent.

Also, I thought the recorded messages had been completely banned except for marketing purposes.

go to www.donotcall.gov, there is a place to click to file a complaint. It also said you can file a complaint if there is only a recording, not a person, on the line.

Almost impossible to track because they use spoofed caller ID's. The last call came up as DOLLNURSERY 971-373-0186. If you call it back, the number is disconnected or no longer in service.

Chico is correct. They are doing every trick in the book to avoid being reported. The following are illegal practices that they are using to avoid getting caught:

  • The caller ID is spoofed.
  • The recorded message does not identify the company
  • When a human answers, they refuse to identify the company.
  • When a human answers, they refuse to give a phone number.

The phone company has a service that they can use to track spoofed and blocked callerIDs, but they will only give out the number to law enforcement. The problem is that no one in law enforcement is interested in getting the number. I have contacted the Allen Police department, the FCC, and the office of the Texas Attorney General, but no one wants to get involved. They each tell me to contact the other.

I guess that's a benefit to having changed our phone to MagicJack. It's not listed and it never rings!! I still put it on the DNC list anyway.

Same here. When I signed up for Ooma I was too cheap to transfer our old number for $40. We got assigned a new number. It must be that these companies are not in the business to print phone books, so the brand new numbers are not known by the telemarketers, and we finally have peace.

I think based on their blatant disregard for Do Not Call, they're robo-calling across the entire spectrum. I have to assume you'll eventually receive your random call and if you pick up, they'll know the number is active.

Just warn them once to remove you. When they call back blast them with an air horn. They can be purchased at the $1 stores.
