NWS has placed us in the Slight Risk area for today. There is a slight chance we could see an isolated storm or two develop anywhere in North Texas today and if they do develop they could go severe pretty quickly. There is a pretty strong cap in place, keeping the lid on things but if things can get going and bust through the cap, the storms are expected to produce large hail and damaging outflow winds.
The odds are we won't see a storm but never say never, because if we do it should be pretty strong. The tornado threat is minimal but wind and hail are a definite possibility. Just keep and ear on your favorite weather broadcast before you head out this afternoon.
