Worst Customer Service Ever!!! Owner lied to me, screamed at me and my children while at her store, and hung up on me multiple times after cursing at me! DO NOT SHOP THERE!!!!! All because I simply wanted to discuss something after making a purchase where she lied to me!!

That sounds terrible. Can you provide more details about what happened?

Seems like there is another side we should also hear before making judgement.

I agree - As Dr. Phil says "every pancake has two sides".
A dog looks at you and says "You take care of me. You must be a god".
A cat looks at you and says "You give me food and shelter. I must be a god".

I didn't even know we had a bridal shop in Allen. I was just talking to someone this morning about wondering if there would be one opening somewhere.

Ok, so for those of you who want details, this is what happened. I get that there are always two sides to the story but I can only present my side and what happened.

Fiance went to Pure Luxe and found a dress, she consulted at length with the owner about alterations and what they would cost. The owner told her for what she wanted done, and I quote to which we have 3 witnesses "There's no way those alterations will cost more than $300". She also explained that she had found a more expensive dress at a different store but would buy this one if the owner was sure it wouldn't be significantly more. Once again, "There's NO WAY it would be more than a few hundred, $300 most"

Long story short, after purchasing the dress, alterations for what she wanted done were in the range of $800-$1000.

We calmly asked to speak with her about taking back the dress so she could buy the other one because at this point it was going to cost more to get this dress and we had explained at the beginning that we would only buy this dress if it was really going to be way less than the other one to which she said "you signed a contract, no way" and hung up.

I called her and tried to talk with her again, to which she immediately started yelling at me and said "I don't have a Bridezilla clause" in my contract. She once again cursed at me and hung up.

Since we could not get her to reasonably discuss this with us over the phone, my fiance went up there to talk with her. She brought our kids with her and once again, the owner yells at her to "Get out of her store!" and called the cops!

I dont know about anyone else, but when a customer tries to talk with a manager about something, they dont hang up and tell them to get out of the store.

Look, I am in sales. I understand a contract is a contract. That's fine. But there is a right way to handle customers and a wrong way. I never tell people that something wont cost this or that without knowing that information. Sometimes its better to do the right thing than to pull a contract out in your face and hide behind it. The dress wasnt damaged, it hadnt been worn. It could have easily been taken back and resold.

If anything a simple civil conversation without her hanging up, cursing at us, or calling the cops for no reason would have been fine.

If you check google reviews you can see that there is a history of this, all with the same excuses and denials of responsibility.

I think I've seen two recently. One in the old Alberstons shopping center and one in the small center at Greenville and Pebblebrook. Don't know which one the poster is referring to.

Thanks for the information. Not a place I would want to waste money in. We may need a bridal shop in the next year and we will be sure NOT to go in that place.

You have a verbal contract that may well hold up in small claims unless you have a written contract that was signed after the verbal agreement was made. Write a demand letter and if you don't get any satisfaction go to JP court and have it heard.
A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.

The one the op is referring to is on Greenville, but right across from St. Jude's, not at Pebblebrook. I don't know anything else about it, I just noticed it there a few weeks ago.

We were threatened by her husband and he verbally abused me on the phone threatening to come to the store. He was threatening me so much so I had to call the police because he was scaring me. We had customers in the store and Sarah came in yelling with her children. My bride witness to all of this. In fact my brides sister was asking her to leave as well because she was doing this in front of the children and she was a teacher. She was asked to leave several times and she would not. She did this to scare customers out of the store. She was told that her nor her husband were not to harass us by the police, and if they did, that it would be considered criminal. She has had all her friends, her husband, and herself threatening me in my place of business and on the internet. Sarah purchased an off the rack, discontinued gown and was as is. When she purchased, she had left the store and had come back to get this gown. She then decided to make an A line gown into a mermaid gown. The zipper was on the side, and wanted it in the back of the gown, It had a sweet heart neck line and wanted more of a sweetheart. So because the alterations lady told her what she is wanting is not "Normal alterations" , she was essentially turning an apple into an orange and she would have to pay more than what she paid for the gown. Since she doesn't want to do this, she expecting to return it after she signed a contract that all sales are final. All bridal stores do not take back wedding gowns, we are no different. Especially an off the rack gown, they are as is. She has had the gown for over 2 weeks, out of the store. No bridal stores take back wedding gowns unless it is a manufacture defect, then it goes back to the manufacture. This was a $400.00 discontinued sample gown that she had come back for with a second visit. She also was read and signed our contracts, initialed each line item, all sales are final, no refunds.
No one should tolerate being cussed out on the phone, threatened in person, and expect to get someone to do what you want them to do after they are threatening and bulling a person. No children were yelled at by us, in fact, the husband said on the phone that he was coming up there to make a scene to scare off any customers and I had already called the police based on the phone call. Sarah, while in the store, asked if I was going to hit her and her children. I am so glad there was people in the store, because I can't imagine if I was alone, she would have accused me of hitting them. (copied from google reveiws)
As of yesterday, there is a case being made of on going harassment by her this person, coworkers, friends, bride and the groom. This has become a security issue. They are trying to get into our place of business by calling from her work and making appointment. We stopped all contact with this bride back when the profanity and screaming happened over the phone when she was having alterations.

My name is Michelle. I opened up my bridal store and left doing hair for 25 years. I have worked on location with brides for 15 years. I decided to make a career change when I got very ill. My husband and I are both prior military. I love working with brides and I love our small business. This is a dream come true to have this business and I am still shocked that I did what I did. In the first 6 months of being open, we were on the Channel 5 news, The OWN network of Don't Tell The Bride, and soon to be on another reality tv show. I moved to Allen because there was nothing, as for bridal stores when I moved out there. There is now another store that moved from Denton. We are very happy that they are there. We welcome the new store because it gives the N. Dallas, Collin County a place to go with out having to travel to downtown Dallas. We are set apart from the other bridal stores because we keep our merchandise very clean from make up and rips. This is to help that bride who can not order a gown. We are thrilled to be in the Allen community and plan to be here for a very long time.

We have been informed that the incident described in this thread is part of an investigation by the Allen police department. It also appears that the original poster missed the part of the forum rules that specifically says do not post incidents that have been brought to the attention on the police. This being said this thread is closed.
