Another blind drawing. No preference for families with players or other participants. No reward for those who would show extra effort (camping out). Just write your name and bump a player's family to the endzone, only to leave your tickets on the dresser if David Finfrock says there's a threat of rain.
Why did it take so long to come up with such a senseless plan?

Is pricing any different than individual games or is it as simple as #games x advance price? They didn't cover that.
I can see both pro's and con's to the lottery method. I'm NOT saying player's family or band family shouldn't have any priority but my gosh how many tickets that would take out of the pool with the massive size of the Escadrille.

I also dont like the fact that current season ticket holders can enter to take additional tickets away from those who dont have tickets at all.
Also, is this restricted to Allen residents only or can anyone enter the drawing?

Current season ticket holders can NOT get additional tickets UNLESS they enter for the drawing just like you and I.

Yes, this is what I am referring to.
You could have a current season ticket holder enter the lottery and get additional tickets therefore taking them away from someone who doesnt have any tickets at all.

Exactly what I am referring to. Someone who already has X number of tickets can increase the number they have if their name is drawn over someone who doesnt have tickets at all.
CURRENT SEASON TICKET HOLDERS: If you wish to release (not renewing) your tickets, please sign the bottom of the card and mail to the above address or come by the athletic office personally to drop the card off.
APRIL 26TH – MAY 18TH - If you are a current season ticket holder and would like to change your current seat selection there will be a sign up sheet available at the Athletic Facility to enter the drawing to upgrade or change your seat assignment. At this time you will only be allowed to change the number of tickets that you currently have in your name. If you would like to purchase additional tickets you will need to enter the drawing with NEW Season Tickets holders.
Monday, April 30, 2012 and will end on Thursday, May 31, 2012 - If you are not a current season ticket holder or you would like to purchase additional tickets you will need to enter the drawing for new ticket sales

I couldn't agree more. I have two kids that will be on that field next year (senior and sophomore) and our family did not get picked for season tickets last year. I am more angry at myself for not making bigger waves before now. I mean who thought up this process allowing season ticket holders to have season tickets forever.
It should be seasonal - and open first to those families that have kids on the field in sort of fashion, then to families who have kids at the high school and then to all other allen residents. Or no season tickets and come purchase your tickets first come first serve.
This is high school not the NFL.

I agree. If not for the new stadium I would not see my sophomore on the field. Why don't we get first dibs?

As a long time season ticket holder, please allow me the opportunity to represent the other side of this issue. First, I applaud you for supporting your kid’s activities. There are so many kids whose parents never help chaperone, sell programs, unload trucks or even attend a booster meeting, much less come to a game. If you do more than come to games, THANK YOU. You are to be commended for showing your kids you care.
My family also supports your kids. We buy tickets, programs, and all sorts of items sold as fund raisers. We also travel near and far to games, year after year. I have met people that managed to get coveted season tickets to see their kids on the field. Then they vanish, never to be seen again – home or away games. Not saying that is terrible, but it is fans like my family that have helped build successful programs like sports and band. You see, our particular interest doesn’t just last 4 years. This is truly our hometown. We are not transient – we were born here and will live most of our lives in Allen. If you want only short term fans then you will have a crowd about the size exhibited by Plano West. They cannot seem to be able to build a large fan base even though their school is not much smaller than Allen. They may have a good team but no fans, no tradition. Compare West with Plano Senior. Plano Senior maintains a good fan base – guess what – they have been Plano Wildcat fans their whole lives and lifetime season ticket holders. They have tradition. This is the same success and tradition that we all enjoy in Allen. Our kids know that every Friday night, whether in our stadium or traveling 3 hours away to Longview, our stands will be filled. When I travel to an away game, I see the same Allen fans year after year after year.
So, long after your kids graduate and you move on, fans, like my family, will still be showing up every Friday night to support the kids from the next generation.
Hopefully, this new stadium will help to ensure that all parents and fans get to see their kids on the field.
GO EAGLES!

Why should you get my seats just because your child is playing football or is in the band? Where were you in the seventies and early eighties when my sister and I were performing on that field? My family still holds their original seats, as do many who sit around us. We have travelled near and far to support the team and the band. We have supported this team since the early sixties. Have You? We have cheered the team on when we didn't personally know a single player.Have you? We also attend other sporting events to support OUR Eagles. Do you? We have purchase programs, concessions, stickers, seat cushions and other do-dads all to supports OUR Eagles. My mother has worked the concession stand many times starting in the sixties. My father stood and collected money from fans long before there were tickets I have worked in the cocession stand myself. Have you?
I don't want to be little the fact that you want to watch your child preform. That is GREAT! But we and many others Have created a tradition here. We love OUR Eagles and have spent a large part of our lives (and money) to show our love.
If you want that parents of player to get first dibs on tickets, then I suggest moving to West Plano. They have a good team but no tradition and there is plenty of seats available 'cause they can't draw flies much less a decent crowd. No way will I give up my seats to someone who will let them go back after their child graduates. How do I know you will do this? Because if you were a real Eagle fan you would already have season tickets.

Thank you longtimeAllenfan! I was about to post, but you took the words right out of my fingers. I opened the old Eagle Stadium my first year in Tallenettes back in 1976 and have been attending games ever since. Proud to be (still) an Eagle, and while I would hate to have to give up my season tickets, if that were ever to come to pass, I would still get general admission tickets because I will go to the games, and I will support my Eagles, no matter what. But I'd rather keep my seats, thank you.

I dont have any issues with people keeping their seats, I just dont believe those people who already have season tickets should be allowed to enter the drawing for the newly available seats.
I also wish that those people who do have the seats but will not be attending a game, could find a local spot to drop off their tickets at so that someone who is going to the game could use their seats. I hate having to sit on the visitor side on a cold/rainy night and look over and see so many available seats on the home side because someone didnt want to come out in the weather to watch. I will sit in the visitor side and yell for my son and the team just as loudly as I would if I got season tickets, I would just like the opportunity to sit with those cheering for the same team.

Thank you MO. I echo your sentiment about getting general admission seats, which we do when we go to all the away games. I also love how Claybo's post refers to the eagles as OUR Eagles. They truly are!

This is one dumbass statement.
Also, are the new seats going to be restricted to Allen residents?

ChrisH, I also wish people would find a way to give up their seats if they cannot attend a game. When I have an extra ticket, I stand by the ticket office and catch an Allen fan that is about to buy a ticket and give them my extra one. They are always appreciative. We ALWAYS have a great time. Having a place to drop them off is a great idea.

Thanks to Longtimefan, claybo and MO for letting me know that since I didn't move to Allen until 1988 I don't have the same rights to see a game from the same seats that they have. Hopefully they will then also find a way for me to not have to pay for that stadium as well, since the best seats won't and shouldn't be available to me. As was said, it's a high school game, for a school and stadium supported and paid for by all residents of Allen. Let's get rid of the season tickets all together, and let anyone come on game day, with the chance of getting a good view of the game. Thats when you get the top fans!

JeffB, I am truly sorry that from my post you took that you did not have equal rights to view games as people who have lived here all their lives. That was never the intention. You do have equal rights, and the new stadium will give everyone an opportunity to attend our football games from the best seats available.
What brought me into this topic was the suggestion that season tickets should be relinquished each year. No season ticket holder, whether at JerryWorld, Ballpark in Arlington, Allen Event Center, Dr. Pepper park, or any high school stadium in the country has an expiration date on their season tickets. It defies the nature of a season ticket. It is not meant to punish anyone who is perceived as less of a fan.
And the new stadium was built for many reasons, probably one of the biggest reasons was that we needed it to accommodate the fans, fans like you that may have missed out on season tickets which were rare in our much smaller stadium. Fans like others who have posted that were previously required to sit on the visitor side but who will now be able to sit in the true Blue and White section. I sincerely hope that all who desire season tickets will be able to get them this year, but even for those who don't, there will be plenty of our side GA seating available. It will be an entirely new setting for Friday nights than what we've experienced in the past, for old fans and new fans alike!
