I would like to know how many more season tickets will be available at the new stadium. Does anyone happen to know?

This was posted by AISD to its Facebook page on April 7:

"There appears to be an impression that fans will not be able to get seats for games this year. The old stadium had about 2,600 seats on the home side not counting the portable bleachers in the corners and endzones. The new stadium seats 9,000 on the home side and another 4,000 around the endzone. There will be twice as many reserved seats as we had last year (5,000) and the general admission seats on the Allen side are still good seats. One of the purposes of reserved seats is to avoid the need to arrive early and hold seats. For popular away games, some Allen fans have arrived 2 hours before the game just to hold seats. "

One dumbass statement? Why is that a dumbass statement? Because you tried once to get season tickets and didn't? If you were a true fan Of Our Eagles, then you would have been in the drawing every year since you came here till you obtained your tickets and you would attend every game that you have a chance to attend. I gave up two seats several years ago because I thought someone like you could use them. But we faithfully use the two we have left.

As for out of towners buying season tickets, I know one man who now lives some thirty miles away now, but he and one of his sons come to almost every game. He has been a season ticket holder since the stadium opened. Do you think he should for fiet his rights to those seats? I don't. He has supported OUR Eagles a lot longer than most.

Not a reply to you specifically, but my beef is with the restriction on the number of season tickets someone can buy. We have more than two children and so will be unable to buy season tickets for our family...or perhaps we could buy four, but send some of the kids to sit on their own in general admission. When AISD has record of the number of people in your household, ie all the kids are enrolled, it would be nice if the entire family would be able to have season tickets and sit together to watch their child/sibling on the field. We sill still be at every game, and will undoubtedly have better seats than we did at the old stadium, but we will have to hold off on season tickets until most of our children are out of school and season tickets will be much harder to get than they will be this year.

just a quick comment about tickets for children - there are separate, designated sections for middle school students and high school students who, like mine, perhaps cannot bear to be seen in public with their parents.

Yeah, I know about the student sections. It helps me a little, but not much. I'll have 3 in elementary or younger for the next 4 years. I'll have one in middle school next year, and one is in high school in the band. He has a seat:)

I understand your frustration, but I also understand why the athletic department put the limit on how many to purchase at one time. Without it, I'm sure there would be some people that would go in and buy a block of seats (16 or 20?) if they were high enough on the selection list, and that's not fair either. There had to be a limit, and four seemed reasonable for most families. Which is why you'll see people with seats broken up (three here and three there).

Bottom line is, no system is going to make everyone happy, so they have to go with what will work for most.

The most important people in that stadium on Friday night are the kids on the football team, in the band, on the cheer squad, etc. The second most important are the other students in the stands, cheering on their classmates. Third are the parents of the kids participating. Fourth are the rest of the community supporters. They are still very important, but, really, it's not about you. Bottom line, parents of the student participants should have first shot, every year, for ALL season tickets.

Right there with you, shiraz! My daughter hasn't graced us with her presence in public since middle school!

So because I have only lived here for 9 years, I should be penalized by getting to see my only child perform. Had I known all those years ago, I would have bought tickets. Maybe used them, maybe not. Either way the money still supports the football program. I am hoping for season tickets. And when my child graduates, I will give them up so another parent can watch on that field.

And I am not an Eagle. My daughter is an eagle. I graduated elsewhere. I never had desired to go to high school football since my own graduation. But this is Texas football and not like where I grew up.

Yes, that is was one dumbass statement. Still backing it up with even dumber statements. I know several people who have tried for 5 or more years to get season tickets. My self, I have not but now that my tax money is going to be going to pay for this 65 million dollar stadium, I would like to be able to sit on the correct side of the field. I have been going to games for the past 10 years that I have lived here and I have always sat on the visitor side.

As I stated earlier, I dont give a rats butt if you keep your seats, I just dont think those with season tickets already should be allowed into the drawing for the new seats. I will have a son on the field, I will buy general admission tickets, and I will continue to support OUR Eagles, I would just prefer that I would have a legit opportunity to get season tickets along with other people who dont currently have season tickets before they are offered to people who just want to increase their number of seats.

BTW, your arguement is ignorant to begin with. Back when you got your season tickets, how many seats did the band take up, 50 maybe 75 at most? How many players were on the team 30? I am pretty certain back then, they were practically giving the tickets away.

FYI, you need to go back and do some reading. I didnt say anyone needed to give up their tickets, I would just like the new season tickets limited to those who are paying taxes for the new stadium.
I would just like them to limit the season tickets to families who dont already have season tickets and who are residents of the city of Allen.
