Our very own KIRK EVANS, 5th grade science teacher at Olson Elementary, has been selected as a top ten finalist for the WFAA Eco-Educators Awards. He is eligible to win the Viewer's Favorite!
C'mon! Let's make him the viewer's favorite!!!!
Vote for Kirk. Then, spread the word and get everyone you know to vote for Kirk!
Kirk has done an amazing job teaching young people Eco-Literacy in our community and has used the Connemara Meadow Preserve as a hands-on learning center for several years.
Kirk was featured on the Allen Image cover and story about him in April 2009 for his work in eco-education here in Allen.

When I looked earlier this morning he was more than 200 votes behind. I just checked a moment ago and he is back in the lead....slightly.

Well, I just saw the results of the voting and Kirk did not win. But a very deserving teacher in Kennedale did win. Here is the information: Sandy Valentino from J.F. Delaney in Kennedale. There were over 35,000 votes and Ms. Valentino pulled in the most to win.

I just saw this post from WFAA Project Green! I don't know why it took them so long to put it out there! Kirk did win! Congratulations Kirk Evans for winning in the K-5th category!

Kirk won the category judged by the judges, the peoples choice was another category and that was won by the teacher from Kennedale. My son was so excited for him and that it was to be on the news this morning. Mr. Evans is truly deserving, he is such a great teacher!
