Any recommendations for stores which specialize in selling laminate flooring to DIYers?
Just some online comparison:
Floor and Decor in Plano has an "F" with the BBB, so even though I like their selection, I do not want to have a bad experience with them should any complications arise. However, the complaint volume appears rather low. ( BBB Link )
Lumber Liquidators is appealing, too. It has its BBB results aggregated via BBB Accredited. It doesn't seem possible to get individual location complaints to compare against Floor and Decor, but their complaint volume appears high. ( BBB Link )
Visiting in Person:
One of the issues I had with Floor and Decor is that it doesn't appear the actual manufacturer of the flooring is located anywhere on some of the packages. I'd like to know if the manufacture is reputable and is likely to be around should the floor require warranty service.
I have not visited Lumber Liquidators yet, but I will soon.
What are the alternatives? Are both of these companies reputable despite the reported complaints? Anything to watch out for?
Here's what I'm after:
- AC3-AC4 laminate flooring. Preferably AC4.
- Approx. 1600 sq. ft.
- Natural color for the "wood" type. (yeah, it's printed)
- Not high gloss
