Looking for a reliable place to board a cat and a dog for 5 days. I will not leave them with Allen Vet hospital.

For the dog we use Bark! Hotel for Dogs. I don't know about the cat. Maybe a house sitter for it?

We've used Pappy's Pet Lodge off George Bush between Alma and Custer for 5-6 years now. We tried several around town but didn't like the condition of our dog when I picked her up. She's always happy and well groomed when I pick her up from Pappy's. We use them 1-2 times a year. Not sure if they board cats or not.

Our cats (we have 2) we usually leave at home with plenty of different water sources/food and an extra litter box. I think they LOVE having full run of the house with no dog...ha,ha!

The PetsHotel in some of the Petsmart stores boards cats.

We love the place we have for our dog- it's Green Acres, it's out in Princeton near Lake Lavon so a little drive, but from East Allen only about 15 min. It's a family place with some land, they have always taken care of our dog with love. They will keep cats as well, but they focus on dogs. Very reasonably priced. It is a family owned kennel, so do call ahead and arrange appointments.

You could check with East Lake Veterinary Hospital. They are on Northwest Highway, so it is a bit of a drive, but if it is on your way to wherever you are going, it's worth checking out.

I have "special" dogs :) and I LOVE Pappy's Pet Lodge. For cats, the Cat Hospital at Jupiter & Bethany is wonderful.

Thanks everyone for the great information. Her new inlaws ended up taking both the cat and dog.

We've taken our dog twice to Bo's Bunkhouse down McDermott (actually in W. Plano). Very new facility with great staff and the prices are very competitive. Nicest place I found for the price.

I checked out Bo's while looking for doggie daycare for my very active collie/lab mix. I went to Bo's to check it out and was not allowed to see where my dog would be spending the day. Big red flag for me. Instead, I found Paw Beach Resort, located on Kathryn Dr off Custer between McDermott and Hwy 121. Great staff, very clean, large play area for the dogs. The daycare prices are about the same as Bo's, not sure about the boarding fees. Great place, my dog loves it.

I take my dogs to Rover Resort in Mckinney. If they stay for three nights, they get a bath and all thier bedding is washed and packed up when I pick them up. And they are not afraid to show you the kennels and all the play yards. They also have a cat area.

Ever consider a Pet Sitter? We have used Guardian Pet Sitters http://guardianpetsitters .com/ for about the past 8 years.

I can't say enough good things about them. The dogs/cats are always stress free when we come back home, like we've never been gone. The pets get to stay in their normal environment - and they almost always have the same pet sitter. They bring in the mail, turn lights on/off etc. We also get a very detailed synopsis of each visit.
