 FUMC Allen hosts FREE Bell Concert on Friday May 11
Join us on Friday, May 11, at 7:00pm, in the sanctuary as FUMC Allen welcomes the Brookhaven College Handbell Ensemble, who just recently returned from the Texas Bronzefest, an invitation-only event held in Waco. Ensemble members joined other college handbell choirs from across Texas, as well as community ensembles, for two days of clinics and a massed concert. The Brookhaven ensemble is one of the most unusual in the state, offering a handbell course for credit to college-age students and for noncredit to nontraditional students.
Also on the program is the FUMC Allen's Carillon Bells, who recently participated in the Level 3+ and up Handbell Festival at FUMC Richardson hosted by the Greater Dallas Handbell Association, working with clinician and composer, Cynthia Dobrinski. FUMC Allen's youth bell ensemble, God's Thunder, attended a regional handbell festival in Oklahoma City in the fall 2011 and will return to OKC for the 2012 festival.
