I meant to go to the meeting on 8/14 on the tax increase, but forgot the date; next in 8/28 at 7 p.m. I happened upon it last week looking for some other information.
First, did anyone receive a notice of this meeting?
Second, did any attend the meeting and can provide some information?

In response to ConserveNature
It's a tax increase in it's an increase of tax revenue by 3.54% over last year.
Last year's effective tax rate set by the city council was $0.553000 per $100 of the taxable value of your home, which is set by the Collin County Central Appraisal District. This year's proposed tax rate is $0.534 per $100 taxable value of your home.
Depending on the taxable value the appraisal district placed on your home this year, your actual taxes could raise or lower.
If your appraisal went up, your taxes may raise slightly. If your appraisal was lowered, the amount of taxes you owe could be less.
All of this pertains only to taxes to the city of Allen.
In addition to the city, tax rates charged by Collin County, Collin County Junior College and AISD will determine the overall tax amount one owes.
The majority of the increase in tax revenues will come from new homes added to the tax base and businesses which have opened in Allen in the past year.
Thanks to ACTV for broadcasting the council meetings.
