Slight Risk 8/12/12 today, Saturday.

More details can be found in the discussion by the SPC (Storm Prediction Center Static map and discussion): http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/arch ive/2...

Let me excerpt this part as it relates to the timing:

CURRENT THINKING IS THAT THE STRONGEST TSTM DEVELOPMENT WILL LIKELY EVOLVE THIS AFTERNOON INTO EVENING ALONG WRN/SRN FRINGES OF ONGOING ACTIVITY.

An incredible amount of rain is showing on RADAR around to our south, west and northwest ... yet very little in Allen proper, but that is going to change shortly ...

Also, another Mesoscale Discussion has been issued by the SPC for that area out to our west:

http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/md/md1787.html

The gist:

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 584 CONTINUES.

SUMMARY...WHILE ISOLATED SVR STORMS REMAIN POSSIBLE ACROSS THE WW AREA...THE OVERALL THREAT IS RATHER MARGINAL.

Finally just now seeing some actual rain coming down ... even though RADAR shows it in the area!

Heaviest band of rain showing through Dallas county and northwest up through Denton at the moment ...

This could easily be the best August weekend I've experienced yet in my ten years in Texas. Sitting on the patio watching this weather reminds me of the NorCal coastline. If my sons dog hadn't already fouled my grass, I'd be dancing in the rain.
Don't ever forget, a fee is a tax of another name.

No kidding! Whodda thunk it that we could ever see 71 degrees at 6 PM in the afternoon in the middle of August in Texas!
