There is a huge "Allen welcomes the NFL" banner hanging on the outside of the Marriott. I remembered this was coming but had no idea they had a 5 year contract. That is great. Another reason that this stadium was a great investment

I think this is a great use of the facility.

I just got two seats in section 103 so there are good seats still available. This should be a ton of fun!

Game is actually scheduled for 1:30pm - not 7:00pm as the article says.

Damn, I originally thought it was early afternoon from what I read a couple weeks ago, and was bummed since I have other plans. But was thrilled when I saw this that it was at 7:00, so now I would be able to go... Yada yada yada, I am now back to being bummed :(

Let's not get ahead of ourselves there sparky. You still have a $3 Million per year debt payment to cover.

This is just showing that the stadium and the city is getting more good national attention. And it could get even better. Think Superbowl.

Wait until you see the TV coverage to determine if the national discussion is positive or negative. In general, the national discussion has been negative.

Superbowl!! Don't get them started or we will have a dome bond proposal floating around. Oh wait! They cannot sell alcohol at the stadium, whew, we are safe for now.

If you are in Section 103, please pick up after yourselves. I will be using those seats in 7 months.

Don't need alcohol for the possibility I've heard.

The attention was negative when they thought the stadium was only going to be used 5 times a year. I think what we've already used it for and what it is booked so far should hush the naysayers a little.

I don't think we'll arrive before 1:00. With reserved seats, I don't think it will be an issue. I wonder how ticket sales were. A week or so ago, you could still get good seats, so I'm wondering if they didn't sell as many as they had hoped to.

Good point....we have reserved seats so I guess we'll put off leaving for a bit. Wasn't looking forward to sitting there for hours before the game even started hehe

I must say the Texans were pretty bad but the Nation was only slightly better. I expected a much better game /sigh. The highlight was the Allen band...it's my first time seeing them and they are an awesome sight to behold. I spent more time screaming and cheering for them than I did for the Texas team.

Easy to cheer for the largest band in the state (US?). They did a great job and I loved the NFL logo they created.

The game was great! They only had four days of pratice and the schemes had to be easy. There was a lot of talent on that field. It was funny to see so many people leaving early in the fourth quarter when it appeared Texas was going to lose. My son I and were like, "uh...you came to watch Texas win? We came to watch all this talent!!!"

This helps put Allen on the map and the great halftime performance really put Allen on the map. What an awesome band, HS, and city.

I'll admit there were some awesome plays on both sides. We got up to leave with about four minutes to go and as soon as we got to the to of the steps Texas pulled another great one. So we went right back down and settled in to see the plays...nevermind the score.

The play that took the cake was Texas fumbling on the two yardline letting Nation pick up a TD.

Hopefully they make some changes to correct the embarrassing attendance. To start, lower ticket prices. Only reason I went was because I snagged three free tickets, I wasn't about to pay $25/ticket for a team that I have no spirit or interest in and I'm sure other people felt the same way. Then they need to advertise more. Many people that live in Allen didn't even know it was going on, not to mention people in the metroplex. It would have added a lot to have the band play during the game and not just halftime. I understand that's a lot more work for them that they normally wouldn't have to do so maybe make it voluntary. From what I understand this halftime show was mandatory and many students were not happy. There was just a lot of dead air, so that plus the little noise of a 20% capacity stadium equals awkward silence. Would have helped if the people running the music and video had any idea what they were doing. It was prbably the students running the boards, which during Friday night lights, I think is great. But on an important, image setting game like this, I believe we should have left it to the pro's.

This just didn't turn out like I hoped it to be, and I don't want the NFL and Texas vs Nation board to regret coming to Allen and being stuck here for the next 5 years. I don't know what it was like in past years at the Alamodome, so maybe this is exactly how it normally is. It was just underwhelming to me.

I didn't get to see the game but the pre-event hype had just about all these kids getting NFL contracts whereas the post event press coverage had these kids being eyed for the CFL (Canada).

Not that I really care, but I don't need a circus barker promoter doing a pump and dump on the event. Was it over-hyped??
