We were invited to the opening of Kenny's Smoke House at the Shops at Legacy last night. Other than the hiccups of a first day this place is going to excel. Beautiful little place that appears larger than it is. Typical Kenny's restaurant with gracious people, nice surroundings and great food.
The food was stellar with a few "Not my favorite". The mac n' cheese was fantastic until they dribbled some truffle oil over it. The beef ribs were good but quite a ways behind Kelley's or Lockhart. The brisket and the cheddar, jalapeño sausage were wonderful beyond description. The Boston Baked Beans have caused my entire system to sing.
The bar food or appetizers may turn out to be a star attraction. Really terrific offerings such as Ahi Nachos, pulled pork tostados and crazy, good poppers filled with brisket and cheddar cheese along with a iced cold Shiner are enough to make a grown man weep.
I think Kenny's has a consistently great brand and this could beat out the burger joint, or the Wood Fired Grill as my favorite. Nah, I won't have a favorite, they are all good.

I was just over there Thursday for lunch but did not notice this new spot? What part of the shops was it located?
What other restaurants are part of the Kenny's family?

I'll definitely have to try this out. I've tried Kenny's Italian and the Burger Joint, and both are outstanding. I've heard great things about his Wood Fired Grill, too.
But BBQ? That's a tall order around here. ;)
