I'm wondering if anyone has experience and/or testimonials after having left their pets at this place(?) - I hate the thought of it but I need this service coming up.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I haven't used Lucky Paws but I use Bark regularly and don't have enough good things to say about them. My dog understands the word Bark and gets very excited when I tell him it's time to go.

I assume you mean Bark & Purr? We have our dogs groomed there.

Thanks for that input!

Maybe check out The Darling Dog on E. Main here in Allen. (They advertise here)We had our dog groomed there and they are really nice people and very professional. Very clean facility. Rather new I believe.

I'll second the folks at the Darling Dog. That's the only place I've taken mine back to that she didn't start shaking when we went in. I won't board her because of her Leukemia (can't be vaccinated for kennel cough) but I'd take her to Darling Dog if I did.

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

To be clear - it's the "boarding" that we're trying to find out about.

We use Pet Paradise on Kathryn Dr off of Custer between McDermott and 121 for doggie daycare. They have boarding and grooming services as well as play days. The place is very clean, staff is great. They have a large outside area as well as really nice indoor play areas and kennels. Been using them for over a year and very happy with the quality of care my dog receives, he loves it there.

We take our pup to Lone Star Dog Ranch and he loves it! So do we. We enjoy checking his pictures out on facebook when we're out of town. The owners are wonderful and it's the best environment for a dog. They aren't locked in a kennel all day long and get to run around and play. Our pup is real good friends with Bea and she loves it when he comes to visit!

Have you considered leaving them home? We use Jenny On The Spot and she comes by twice a day to walk, entertain and pamper your dog. Out dogs love her and are far less traumatized than staying at a kennel.

Vital Visits Pet Sitting Service has openings for boarding. Reviews online too. Or, they can come to you for special time with your pet!

We used lucky paws and all was well. We have an old and large dog with an easy going personality. They made sure that he was grouped with dogs that would not jump on him or harass him. They helped him get up to go to the bathroom as needed. He ate his food, which means he was happy. They even let me bring in some chicken for him to keep in the fridge. He seemed happy enough there for a day or two. The people were friendly and helpful, even carrying his bed and bag of stuff out of my car while I helped him out of the car.
