I have a pet peeve about someone talking their mouth full of food. I have a co worker that does this all the time. They have recently been promoted to a new more visible position meeting with other managers in the bldg. I want to say something to them because this does impact the way people interact with them. They look like a cow chewing. I've noticed this for years - would you say something to them?? or just let it drop??
A dog looks at you and says "You take care of me. You must be a god".

I would say unless you have to live with them, let it drop.

Say something unless you have it out for them.

The true test of good manners is the ability to tolerate bad manners. Or in other words, if someone behaves impolitely, I should be too polite to take notice. I think Judith Martin may actually have said that.
The exception to this rule is with one's own children and grandchildren when they are young. We lovingly train them so that they will not test the good manners of others when they are adults.

Although it's annoying, I wouldn't say anything. If it was my husband or close family member I wouldn't have a problem with it but a coworker might take it the wrong way.

Interesting thread.
On edit - my original example has too much risk of getting back to me, so I removed it.

Could you talk with someone in HR? Or drop the person's supervisor a note? This goes a bit beyond using the wrong piece of flatware or putting elbows on the table. Ideally HR or the supervisor can handle it as a piece of corrective/constructive advice for the open mouth eater.

Now, if they're talking while eating and food is spraying out (gross), I would definitely say something!
