Not too much to say about this movie. Yes, it was your ordinary action movie to where one hero takes on a whole army with gruesome head shots, over the top battle scenes and gunfire and explosions galore… but I still liked it. The intensity started 15 minutes into the movie and never let up. The acting was nothing spectacular but isn’t really a factor in movies like this since there’s little dialogue… just killing. However, Gerard Butler definitely fits the roll as the indestructible hero and Morgan Freeman did well as the “acting president”. Real or not, I thought the tactics, strategy and weapons used were interesting and kept me at the edge of my seat. Sure, there were many “that wouldn’t happen” and “they would have just done this” scenes, but again, people watch action movies for the intensity, not the continuity and actuality.
I recommend a trip to the theater to anyone who wants to see an intense save the world type movie, however just be forewarned, that this movie is VERY graphic. Even for a war-like movie, some scenes can be disturbing.

Sorry, but I disagree.
For me, even an action movie has to have some level of plausability. I expect outlandish plot devices in sci-fi or fantasy, but other than that the story has to be at least remotely possible. In this day and age to start off your movie on the premis that a C130 could shoot down 2 F22's (or maybe it was F-35's, I don't remember) and then spray D.C. with gatling gun cannon fire for 10 minutes is laughable. Maybe pre 9/11, but not now. The whole movie is filled with stupid stuff like this.
I agree that the action is pretty good even if predictable, and the acting is ok (with the exception of Dylan McDermott who was horrific at best, but then the part was so poorly written/developed it's hard to fault him); however, this has to be one of the worst screen plays I've seen in years.
Julie Fisk on KRLD gave it an actual "F", while I won't go that far, I will say that a "C-" would be generous.
