I didn't see the first one so wasn't sure how I was going to like this. But from what I understand from someone that did see the first, this one did not have too much to do with the first since a majority of the characters were all new. The story itself seemed to piggy back though and I was kind of lost on what was going on and how people got to where they were. The battle scenes were intense and well done, but obviously over the top. It is GI Joe after all. I also had trouble following which side some of the characters were on. Maybe if I remembered the characters from the cartoon or saw the first movie it would be easier, but even after walking out of the movie, I still didn't know if some of the characters were good or bad. “The Rock” did great as the bad ass Joe but none of the other characters really stood out, and Bruce Willis had a much smaller role than I anticipated. CGI and 3D was done well and the choreography of the ninja battles was awesome. They did good at keeping it relatively clean yet still keeping it action packed, so don’t worry about bringing children to it. Not a movie I would have really paid to go see, but I don’t think I would have felt short changed if I did.
