Just visited a new Asian cafe in Plano that specializes in Malaysian / Singaporean and Thai dishes. The restaurant is locally owned by a Malay couple and the chef has been brought in from Penang (the center of the food universe). I can say this about the Penang Curry, it's the best I've had in years. They serve Fresh made Roti and Chai Tea, Laksa, Nasi Lemak and various Basil dishes as well. Basically any of the great dishes you would find in a hawker stand you will find here including the famed Southern Indian and Chinese foods so popular in Malaysia. This is a really good place for informal, delicious food.
The address is
2929 Custer Rd #315
Plano Tx
South East corner of Parker and Custer.
The complete menu will be online soon at

I have also heard about Asian Delights Cafe that being opened in Plano just the day before with my friends when they visited that vary place. They stated that the plastic “Grand Opening” banner steered them in and the marquee recognition and sign arrive next. There chicken and potato curry and Kuala Lumpur Hokkien noodles was said being awesome.

We ate there last week as well. My wife spent 5 or 6 years in Singapore when she was a kid and then in Holland for 12 years where they have a large Malaysian population. She's been hankering for that flavor for some time so we were pretty excited about Asian Delights.
We weren't disappointed. We started with the chicken satay which was very authentic according to my "expert" I had the Rendang Beef which was likewise very good although I can't really comment on it's authenticity. I forget what my wife had but it was some kind of exotically seasoned rice.
It wasn't cheap but the portions were good sized and the food was good. The owner came over to the table and talked to us for a few minutes and was very personable and friendly. It did take a while to get our food since there is apparently a single cook. When we did get it, it came out one dish at a time (as did the other table's food in the restaurant) this wasn't a problem for us since we expect that in small places like this. Just be warned. This isn't P.F. Changs.
Thanks to PartyofEight for the heads up on this place!
It's on the south west corner though and not the south east as indicated in the OP. Just FYI.
