Perhaps too late to be helpful, but most medical service providers bill the insurance and then are paid a fraction of that - the "network negotiated rate."
We have an HSA and our deductible is only credited the "network negotiated rate." So far all providers have been willing to charge us just what the insurance would have paid. SO they file on insurance, the EOB comes back, and that's what we owe.
Find out who is in charge and negotiate - a place like Envision (where I had an MRI done a few years ago) is the kind of place that might do that for you.
Get the price down as far as possible and then negotiate a payment plan. I really wish you good luck with this.
