So, what creative ways have you guys protected your crops from the heat we're having?
My tomatos and squash have taken a beating. I know, big surprise. I am growing cantaloupes and have constructed a "bridge" type contraption with some wire fencing to go over my squash which provides a great deal of shade. The squash have been perking up. I have also constructed a type of awning with some screening material over my tomatos which blocks a bit of the sun which keeps my plants cooler. This seems to be working as the plant are greening up and putting on more growth lately.
Anyone else? How do you keep your plants safe from the heat?

Great ideas. I hope you are getting lots of produce. If only I had more time to do something like that . . . just too busy nowadays with two jobs.

Thanks. I'm all ears for other suggestions. These are my first ideas and so far, they seem to be working.
