Apparently the Allen water department failed to submit 90 bacteriological water samples during the month of June.

When I was nineteen and serving aboard ship I was often tasked with daily water testing for halogen residuals and weekly coliform testing.

If I had failed to complete testing it would have cost me a stripe, half a months pay for two months and very likely 45 days of extra duty and restriction to the ship.

I wonder what it will cost the City of Allen?

Also, the insert said that because the 86 that were collected met standards that there was no health hazard. I guess next month only four can be done with that logic.
A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.

Routine Monitoring Violation Total Coliform Rule
City of Allen, Public Water Supply Number 0430025 failed to collect the required number of bacteriological
samples for coliform monitoring of the distribution system during the month of June 2013. This monitoring is
required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s “Drinking Water Standards” and the federal “Safe
Drinking Water Act,” Public Law 95-523.
Bacteriological samples are used to monitor water quality and indicate if the water is free of coliform bacteria.
Our water system is required to submit 90 bacteriological samples each month. Failure to collect all required
bacteriological samples is a violation of the monitoring requirements and we are required to notify you of this
violation.
The above paragraphs are mandatory language as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental
Quality. Simply put, due to an administrative error, The City of Allen collected only 86 of the required 90 water
samples for the month of June 2013. All 86 samples collected met the drinking water standards and this issue caused
no health hazard to the public.
If you have any questions regarding this violation, you may contact Jimmy Knipp, Assistant Director of
Community Services at 214.509.4502
