If you are thinking of installing a new landscape or updating your current landscape in the spring, STOP! Don't wait until spring! The best time for landscaping is in the fall. Landscape designers and architects are not as busy in the fall. Many nurseries have their plants on sale in the fall. Planting in the fall allows the new plants to establish more quickly over the winter without as much stress as trying to get them to survive the heat of summer. And, if you are a DIY person, the weather is generally cooler making the work a bit easier in the fall. You won't need to water as frequently in the fall and over the winter since cooler temps means the soil retains moisture longer. Are you convinced yet? Ask any experienced gardener or nursery professional and they will tell you the same thing. Don't wait until spring to update your landscape.
