Not sure if it is coming down from the Football program running an up tempo offense or the music department, but it seems like the band is not playing as much during the games on both offensive 1st downs or defensive stands.
I was impressed by Lake Highland's band playing what seemed like 20 minutes before kickoff all throughout the game.
I don't want to remind the band administration of the band's role at the game but I remember a certain play in the 2008 championship game against Houston Lamar that the band literally made the Lamar QB botch a snap in his own endzone.
I'd like to see a little more activity from than end of the stands.

I'm not sure what you were listening to but our band was playing a lot during the last game. The echo was so bad that it often sounded like the sound was coming from the Lake Highlands side. I actually thought it was their band playing several times until I looked over and saw their instruments in their laps.

Other than late in the 2nd quarter when they were leaving the stands for halftime, and early 3rd quarter when they were getting back into the stands, the band playing pretty much constantly throughout the game. The directors pay attention to what is happening during the game, and are strategic about when/what they play.

That may have been it, I was on the opposite side of the band - The left side if you will.

My son's in the band; he feels like they are playing as much as they ever have. The stadium echo really does mess up the sound though; we were on the LH side at the game, though, and heard the band really well.

I have noticed the echo thing, too. I think it was the Richardson game when I kept hearing songs our band plays and thought the other band was playing them, too, until I looked at them and realized they weren't actually playing at all, it was us.

Yep, I actually thought they were playing a little too much. There were a couple times where they were playing when Tejan was snapping the ball.

I noticed that too! I kept wondering how LH was playing all our regular songs...until I realized it was us, not them! Freaky acoustics!

I think there are only four stand tunes, and every band plays them. :)
There were a couple of times that a tune didn't finish before Allen got the ball back. I blame the Allen defense ...
Two plus two equals five, for sufficiently large values of two.

Watching the Channel 21 telecast, clearly the band was playing a lot. I'm not sure if it was part of the plan or a strategy to keep their bodies from freezing up.
I think every band member will remember last night's game for a long time. I never wanted to play in Jerry world so badly as last night.

I was sitting next to the band. Mr. Hinton would count off the band about 2 seconds ahead of each Horn snap.
