From Allen ISD:
Allen HS Lockdown Information
Allen High School lock down information: The Allen Police Department received information about suspicious activity outside Allen High School this morning. Following procedure, the school was asked by the Police Department to go "into lock down" which means that students and staff remain in their rooms and no one is able to enter or leave the building. The Allen Police Department then thoroughly investigated and determined that no threat existed. School was then released from the lock down and resumed its normal schedule.
There were no other schools affected and there was no actual threat to Allen students. Still, the same procedures are followed and both students and staff acted quickly and responsibly.
We would ask parents not to post rumors and assumptions they hear online or from their students. Many of the comments and postings about weapons and school closings today were incorrect and caused more alarm. The school district will try to keep parents informed but only after the safety and security of students and staff are assured.
Thank you for your patience and understanding

According to the Allen American, a threat was called into the police. Let's be honest, if someone wants to cause harm, they are not going to call, they are just going to do. However, no reason to take chances and it appears the police worked quickly to resolve the situation. (Or in this instance, determine that there was no situation)

Assuming the caller and the actor are same person? Threat vs tip.
